Responsibilities

POSTION SUMMARY:

The University of Rochester is recruiting a Business Analyst to work in University Information Technology to support project activities for financial systems as it relates to Accounts Payable and Banking. This person will work on the design documentation, requirement analysis/documentation, business process analysis/documentation, configuration, testing strategy and use case development, reporting, administration, maintenance, upgrades, support implementation planning, project management, security compliance analysis, for University business systems and enabling technologies in support of the University-wide financial systems. This role is responsible for implementing financial compliance and integration with new financial solutions such as Lease Accounting as it impacts Accounts Payable and Banking solutions.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

This individual will:

Provide business analysis, reporting, administration, and maintenance and support services for the University's Financial Systems across non-production and production application environments, working with various technical and functional personnel as needed.

Participate in design, develop, document, test, implement, administer, maintain, and upgrade financial application software.

Creates procedures to maintain applications, system documents, and programs.

Work with users to understand and document business requirements. Assist in the translation of the business requirements into configurable software components and rules that meet user and business needs. Support system design reviews and code walkthroughs.

Prepare necessary paperwork and documentation to ensure conformance to departmental/corporate standards and procedures.

Participate in execution of testing new procedures and software, support/ development/administration resources. Work closely with functional and technical testers on the preparation of test plans, test data, and integrated testing.

Maintain a broad knowledge of the system administration discipline, related best practices, and related technologies.

Provide on-call and upgrade support as required.

Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Demonstration of the following knowledge and skills is expected:

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Proven track record leading multiple work streams and producing consistent results in relevant financial project activities.

Strong understanding of financial business processes

Experience with financial ERP Accounts Payable and Banking applications preferred

Experience with Finance specializing in Accounts Payable, Supplier Contracts and Banking required

Experience with Procurement and Encumbrance Accounting preferred

Strong understanding of system/application administration activities

Ability to provide on-call support as required

Experience with project management from planning through implementation

Requires demonstration of skills with database and complex spreadsheet techniques in addition to creation of logic formulas, queries and reports.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the following:

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. 3 to 4 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. Master's Degree and experience in higher education field preferred

This non-credit bearing English program includes courses in 1) Academic English Reading and Writing, 2) Academic English Listening and Speaking, and 3) General English. Adjunct faculty are responsible for preparing lessons and teaching these courses at the UR River Campus. Instructors in this program teach twice weekly in ten-week courses. Day or evening courses may be assigned. Adjunct faculty must maintain accurate records on students and submit pertinent data to the program, department, and the University, including, but not limited to, attendance records, course information sheet, proficiency exams, and final grades. Adjunct faculty report to the English Language Program in the Office for Global Engagement.
