Job Summary
Upward Bound at CU Boulder (CUUB) encourages applications for Night Staff! The Night Staff is CUUB's after-hours security team, ensuring that all of our student participants are in their rooms after lights out and that any unforeseen situations are handled with the utmost care and dedication to student safety. The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement, partners with communities across Colorado and beyond to provide first-generation students and their families with comprehensive college preparation and social development programming.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
The duties of the Night Staff include, but are not limited to: patrolling the dorm hallways after lights out until 4AM, composing a nightly incident report summarizing rounds, handling situations with students as they arise (with the involvement of the residential staff where appropriate), and notifying proper authorities of any potential threats to student safety. In general, the Night Staff will work as a team to uphold CUUB's dedication to safety after hours, and will coordinate with the appropriate staff members whenever vital to ensure that safety standards are met each night.
What You Should Know
July 20th. The schedule is anticipated to be approximately 35-40 hours per week, typically from 10 pm
3 or 4 am, Thursday through Monday. Staff will receive 2 days off per week after the first week of training, typically Tuesday and Wednesday.
This role must pass University required background check.
This position will attend a required week long orientation before student arrival, beginning June 2nd.
What We Can Offer
The starting pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00 hourly.

What You Will Need
You will need the ability to:
Conduct regular rounds of the dorm to ensure the security of camp facilities.
Supervise and enforce CUUB and CU Housing rules and safety procedures during nighttime hours.
Respond promptly to any emergencies, incidents, or disturbances during the night.
Supervise students during designated nighttime activities and ensure adherence to CUUB and CU rules.
Be present and available for students who may need assistance or support during the night.
Collaborate with staff members to address any behavioral or disciplinary issues that may arise.
Maintain effective communication with other night staff members and Residential Advisors and Residential Supervisors to relay important information.
Provide clear and concise updates to Supervisors and Directors regarding any incidents or noteworthy occurrences during the night.
Monitor the health and well-being of campers during the night, including checking on those who may be feeling unwell or homesick.
Coordinate basic first aid when necessary and connect with the camp health center as needed.
Maintain accurate records of any incidents, accidents, or noteworthy observations during nighttime hours.
Complete required google forms, paperwork, and incident reports as necessary.
Collaborate with other residential staff, including advisors, supervisors and program directors, to provide a flawless and positive experience for students.

Have an educational/lived experience that reflects that of CUUB students.
Have experience supervising and working as a part of a team.
