The Position:
Ivy Tech Community College, Indianapolis Campus is seeking a Coordinator for Upward Bound, a Federal TRiO program at Ivy Tech Indianapolis. The Upward Bound Program focuses on Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. The Upward Bound Program Coordinator facilitates the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the various components of the Upward Bound program. The coordinator will report to the Director of Upward Bound. This is a five (5) year grant program currently in year three (3).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinating with Ben Davis High School and MSD Wayne Township to develop target recruitment and retention strategies to recruit and retain 60 program participants each year
Assist in the identification, recruitment, and selection of project participants
Planning, coordinating, and implementing the program's services, including Saturday Academy sessions during the academic year and 6-week summer program for each cohort. These services include academic instruction and tutoring, SAT & ACT preparation, career exploration, financial literacy education, cultural enrichment, community service, assistance completing college admissions and financial aid applications, and on-campus residential programs
Maintaining documentation of services in electronic database and participant files
Assisting in the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of summer instructors, tutors and summer staff as well as student volunteers
Developing and nurturing partnerships with faculty and staff of Ivy Tech Indianapolis and The Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township to enhance the program's services
Engaging with other UB staff members to provide formative assessment and continuous improvement of program delivery
Providing office administrative support for the program

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Project Director, Upward Bound
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and REQUIREMENTS:
Associate degree required. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant administrative experience.
Experience working in higher education and high school-age youth
Demonstrated ability to coordinate, implement, and evaluate program(s).
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required
Good public relations skills and self-motivation required
Must possess required knowledge and skills of computers and related software applications for program planning and implementation, including record-keeping
Must have reliable internet access for mobile office or work at home environment
Must be able to administer and interpret assessment results
Must be able to travel throughout the Indianapolis service area in a mobile office environment

SALARY RANGE: $30,000 - $35,000
