Job Summary

We seek a dynamic professional to serve as the Upper School Wellness Coordinator for the 2024-2025 school year. The Wellness Coordinator, as a member of the Counseling Department and in conjunction with the Dean of Students office, offers on-campus support and programs that enhance the overall health and wellness of our students and families through a focus on social and emotional well-being. The Wellness Coordinator + Counselor and US Counselor collaborate to provide short-term mental health services, including one-on-one guidance, problem-solving, and referrals to outside resources; student and parent/guardian education programs; and a wide range of wellness resources. They do not provide ongoing, formal psychotherapy. The Wellness Coordinator + Counselor works with the Counseling and Health Services team to support program implementation and day-to-day operations, coordinating direct services and spearheading school-wide prevention and education efforts. Key Responsibilities Upper School Wellness Coordinator and Counselor Conduct initial assessments and triage, provide crisis counseling, and carry out interventions when necessary. Coordinate the provision of one-to-one counseling, support groups, nursing services, and crisis intervention services. Collaborate closely with school-wide Counselors, the US Health Educator, the Nursing staff, and the Upper School Administrative Team to ensure communication among support and wellness service providers and effective implementation of wellness protocols. Collaborate closely with our Director of Residential Life to support our students and faculty who live on campus. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, students, and faculty about students' well-being via email, phone, Zoom, and in-person meetings. In terms of qualifications, the successful candidate will: Be a licensed therapist with a Master's in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD, Ph.D). Have at least 3 years of experience working in mental health coordination, outreach, education, and case management.

Background and active engagement with Cultural Competencies and the ability to work across a variety of cultures within the school setting. Have experience with and be an advocate for progressive DEIJB work in schools. Have experience with short-term one-on-one and/or small-group counseling with adolescents.

Be able to communicate comfortably and skillfully with both adolescents and adults. Have a proven track record of collegial collaboration with teachers, student support professionals, and administrators. Find inspiration in the San Domenico Mission. Be technologically adept(especially with iPads, Macs, Gmail/Google Drive, and MS Office

  • Word/Excel). Have prior experience with Wellness/School-based Health Center models(not required, but highly desirable). Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as experience working with multidisciplinary teams (bilingual ability a plus). Have the capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.

Comments and Other Information

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $135,000 annually, commensurate with skill set and experience.
