Upper School Social Science Teacher - Psychology The Buckley School, Los Angeles' oldest K-12 all-gender learning institution, has an opening for an Upper School AP Psychology and Social Psychology teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.
Buckley teachers create an educational program and a classroom environment in support of the school's mission, Portrait of a Graduate, Strategic Plan, and commitment to DEI, based on the belief that student agency and engagement is critical for effective learning. This position is responsible for teaching up to five Upper School social science classes and serving as an advisor to Upper School students. The ideal candidate possesses a wealth of content knowledge, expertise in curriculum design, and experience teaching psychology and core academic skills developed through research and writing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ? Teaching up to five sections of Upper School social science (Psychology) ? Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of a range of learners and utilizing a variety of assessment methods to inform instruction ? Collaborating with colleagues to design projects and assessments ? Providing support and enrichment for students through our advisory program ? Proficiency with current classroom technology, and demonstration of exceptional writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills ? Engaging actively in departmental and school-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts ? Participating in department and faculty meetings; providing timely feedback to students, advisees and their families; actively supporting school activities and events. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE ?
