Position Description
Burke’s seeks a dynamic educator to teach Upper School Music who can bring to life the mission of the school while working with students to further develop their musical abilities and appreciation of the vital role music plays in their lives. Fifth and sixth grade music classes build on the Lower School program of using sound, movement, and improvisation in the study of music. In seventh and eighth grades, elective offerings can vary in creative ways based on student interests and instructor skill sets. Additionally, the eighth-grade year culminates in a class-wide production of a musical that involves the whole Upper School Arts team. The ideal candidate enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team, thinks creatively about curriculum and possibilities for innovation, and enjoys working with middle school-aged children.
In addition to teaching music, responsibilities include advising a group of students to support social-emotional learning and strong learning habits.

Compensation
Burke’s offers competitive compensation with a salary range of $70,000 - $145,000 based on years of experience plus advanced degree stipends.
