In this fast-paced, high-energy environment where attention to detail is essential, how do we ensure our facilities maintenance is kept up and looking good. As an Upholsterer and Buildings Laborer, you will perform building maintenance, installation of fixtures and materials, and other general repairs that keep the property looking its best. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

  • *Perform maintenance, installation, and repair of casino and hotel furniture, upholstery, and other items. Responsibilities include but are not limited to creating or restoring custom furniture; measuring and cutting materials based on patterns or design specifications; attaching fasteners or ornamental trim; replacing coverings; and creating patterns for furniture and upholstery needs.

  • *Examine and repair furniture frames, upholstery, springs, webbing, and other items, if defects are identified.

  • Provide support to other Facilities Departments with Upholstery, Carpentry and Painting trades when necessary and as directed by leadership. Responsibilities would include but are not limited to helping maintain all decorative features of the property with inspection, repair, installation, modification, and/or construction with new materials; assist with measurement and installation of carpet, tile, and other floor coverings and finishes, measure, install, or replace ceiling tiles and suspended ceiling grids.

  • *Respond to and complete maintenance and repair requests in a timely, safe, and accurate manner while ensuring high levels of guest service and minimal interruption to business operations.

  • *Ensure maintenance tools are in proper working condition and operate equipment safely. Replace worn parts, perform routine maintenance, maintain parts inventory stock, and report any unsafe conditions to management.

  • *Ensure adherence with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, as well as the company's safety policies and procedures.

  • *Determine appropriate type and amount of materials required for work pieces. Maintain accurate records of the time and materials used to perform and complete projects.

  • *Assist and perform inspections, repairs, relocation, and installs of gaming equipment.

  • Assist in maintaining inventory stock and arrange for the purchase of necessary supplies, materials, tools, and equipment.

  • Coordinate with Supervisor and/or Management any repairs or maintenance that cannot be done during regular working hours and schedule work as necessary to complete.

  • Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a related apprenticeship, and two years of skilled upholstery experience are preferred.

  • Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment and basic knowledge of computers. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) preferred.

  • The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information.

  • The ability to interact with customers and team members in a professional manner.

  • The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, and move for duration of scheduled shift. The team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The team member may be required to lift or move objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

The noise level is usually moderate to loud. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases. The facility is not smoke free. While performing the duties of this job, the team member occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and at heights. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme temperatures, and vibration.
