THE FOLLOWING ARE POSITIONS THAT WE HIRE FOR WITHIN FREDERICKSBURG, VA OPERATING AREA Plant Technician Distribution Technician Successful applicant (s) must be willing and able to accept shift and emergency assignments and work overtime, be on-call, work in all types of weather conditions This position is subject to applicable DOT Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plan (AMPP) regulations. Essential Responsibilities for Plant Technician and Distribution Technician:
Assists with the operation and maintenance of distribution facilities such as main lines and services.
Performs miscellaneous duties relative to plant operations.
Operates line locator to locate and mark pipelines and curb boxes
Repairs curb boxes as needed
Performs corrosion test readings
Performs critical valve inspections
Performs minor maintenance on tools and equipment
Performs general maintenance duties, such as painting, mowing and cleaning, as needed. Responds to various types of customer/company work requests including but not limited to: transfers, disconnects, reads/rereads, locates/repairs curb boxes, removes active and inactive meters, collects on delinquent accounts or disconnects gas service at meter or curb box.
Duties include ability to operate one or more of the following types of construction equipment: two-ton trucks with pipe trailers or low-boy type trailers, and trucks two-ton capacity and over, ditching machines, backhoes, and back filler-tampers.
Work includes installing or assists in the installation, repair, and replacement of distribution facilities such as mains, services, regulators, and structures.
Must be available for overtime, emergency, and call-out work.
Other duties as may be assigned.
Appropriate class of Virginia drivers license and CDL is required.
Employee will be required to pass the Operator Qualifications requirements appropriate to the assigned duties NOTE ABOUT ALL POSITIONS:
All positions are subject to applicable DOT Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plan (AMPP) regulations.
All positions must be able to respond to emergency calls and work scheduled and non-scheduled overtime at applicable overtime rate. To serve customers needs, it may be necessary for incumbent to work a schedule or work location other than posted on a temporary basis to provide coverage during vacations.

All positions require working in all weather conditions
All applicants must have a valid and appropriate drivers license to be qualified
All applicants must have a high school degree from an accredited school or accepted GED to be qualified
All applicants must be able to become OQ qualified and maintain OQ qualifications. Qualifications Key Work Experiences/Education for Plant Technician and Distribution Technician:
12 months experience in gas operations or equivalent work experience.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a mechanical aptitude and working knowledge/experience in the use of hand tools.
Must be able to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
Must be able to read and interpret highway prints and company inventory maps.
Must be able to document records, understand oral and written communications and prepare legible orders.
Must be self-motivated and able to complete assignments with little or no direct supervision.
Requires ability to organize and prioritize duties
Must have strong oral and interpersonal skills, as demonstrated by successful interactions with others where tact and diplomacy are needed.
Experience in the plumbing trade or in field operations in the natural gas industry is preferred
Must have a safe work driving record to operate company vehicles.
Must have demonstrated computer experience. General/Transferable Competencies:
