Epic Games Unreal Engine team is looking for a Console Programmer Intern to join them during 2019! By the end of the internship, you will have worked on challenging problems for the Unreal Engine team! We will provide a meaningful experience with high expectations for performance. If you want to build something Epic, this is the opportunity for you! This position is hiring in two locations: Guildford, UK and Madison, Wisconsin.
Your days will include:
Working with a team of highly skilled engineers to support the technical excellence of Fortnite and the Unreal Engine
Profiling and Optimization for the Unreal Engine and Fortnite teams
Writing cross-platform code
Fixing console bugs in the Unreal Engine and Fortnite
Generalist programming tasks as needed
Portfolio work (website, Github, examples of code or working projects/demos): Candidates will not be considered without this!
Must have some experience outside of university doing related projects, ideally using Unreal Engine to make games. It's a plus if you've made your own engine, modified or improved an existing engine like UE4.
Demonstrated C++ programming skills
Design gameplay sensibilities
Good knowledge of data structures and algorithms
Experience working with optimization
Interest in low level and cross platform programming
Self-driven desire to work in the games industry
Some degree work in CS or related fields ideal
This is a paid internship. All candidates must be legally authorized to work 40 hours per week on site in the local studio for either Guildford, UK or Madison, Wisconsin. Internship work term length is flexible within 12 months.
