The Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Program Specialist position exists to provide support for Sinclair College's National UAS Training and Certification Center. Specifically, the position supports UAS related activities including flight operations, logistics activities, and student and corporate client recruitment working with the UAS Program Manager for Commercialization and Technology Transfer. The position will identify potential customers and assist in their recruitment for course and training offerings, assist in the operation of UAS simulation capabilities, and assist in required logistics needed to execute training, research, and demonstration events. Additionally, the Specialist will assist with UAS operations by serving as a member of the flight crew either as an ancillary crewmember, observer, or pilot in command depending on mission needs and individual qualifications.

The hourly pay for this position is $19.25 per hour at a maximum of 28 hours per week.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Support marketing and public relations activities

  • Support scheduled events

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma, or equivalent, required

  • Current Federal Aviation Administration Remote Pilot Certificate (per 14 CFR Part 107 guidance) required

  • Academic certificates and associate or bachelor degree in aviation, UAS, or related field preferred

  • Industry certifications and credentials, including UAS system crew or operator certifications, preferred

  • Minimum of 1 year work experience required; work experience in aviation and/or UAS related experience preferred

  • Experience in modeling and simulation related to airspace visualization and mission planning preferred

  • Proficient PC skills to include but not limited to: MS Word; Excel; and Outlook required

  • Current, or ability to obtain a Federal Aviation Administration Class 2 Medical Certificate preferred

  • Flight experience with Sport, Recreational, or Private Pilot Certificate, or advanced ratings, preferred

  • Excellent oral and written communication and listening skills, including experience in preparing and delivering reports and presentations required

  • U.S. Citizenship required
