With a "no downtime, zero outages" vision and mantra, we support a range of data center needs ranging from self-service to white-glove services, all of which are based on our customer's required level of support. Our organization is comprised of a teams supporting PMO, Security, Quality, Intake, Service Delivery, Engineering, and Service Operations. With these teams access resources from our functional teams supporting Network, Security, Firewall, z/OS and z/VM operations, Unix Operations, Change Management, Monitoring, Capacity Management, x86 Operations, and Storage Operations. Part of everyone's responsibility is to help drive the new consumption-based services oriented model.

Now to you - your mission, if you choose to accept it as a Unix Administrator , will require you to coordinate closely with senior leadership to help establish clear objectives and effectively communicate program needs, management program logs, interact with contract management, and establish effective, bi-directional, collaborative communication within our Program Team. Ultimately, these activities will be extended in communication to the customer. You will interact daily with technical resource which are fulfilling technical requirements for the customer. Your goal will be to work with all stakeholders to help Leidos ensure delivery of high-quality, robust and scalable solutions with minimal business impact.

The current work environment is on-site at Leidos in Winsor Mill / Woodlawn, Maryland with potential for on-site work at CMS (in the same location). Telecommute opportunities are currently being evaluated and may become available based upon teams supported, work hours, and work performance.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and analysis of enterprise assets including server and network devices.

  • Participate in shift work and handover briefings.

  • Participate in resolution, and escalation, of incident, service request, and change request tickets.

  • Monitor systems for anomalies and investigate impact related patterns of usage

  • Provide reporting inputs on systems resources in all operational areas.

  • Produce and maintain detailed operational documentation for the Enterprise Operations Center.

  • Develop expertise, conduct training, and mentor teammates.

  • Provide intensive monitoring and synthesize outputs to develop reporting to support automation, redundancy, and efficiency.

  • Other technical duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience:

BS and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Required Skills:

  • General understanding of operating system concepts including file systems and process.

  • General understanding of TCP/IP and related protocols such as HTTP, ssh, and NFS

  • General understanding of authentication systems and protocols including Kerberos.

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Ability to manage conflict effectively.

  • Ability to adapt and be productive in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills supporting multiple stakeholders and business operations.

  • Self-starter, self-managed, and a team player.

Hilton Street Baltimore, MD 21229 Main Purpose of Job This position functions as a manager by providing the administration of the direct delivery of services for the Family Investment Administration and other income support programs to eligible residents within the geographical boundaries of a Family Investment Center in Baltimore City. The Bureau of Family Investment Administration of the Baltimore City Department of Social Services directs activities to assist families with children while preparing them for independence. At all times, the incumbent will provide customer service to both internal and external customers that meet or exceed the standards set by the Department and promotes the work of the department through frequent interaction with customers, public officials, advocates and agency personnel. POSITION DUTIES Mandates the implementation of ongoing, changes, and new program requirements in order to comply with Temporary Disability Assistance Program (TDAP), Food Supplement and Medical Assistance (MA) regulations. This is done by reviewing and interpreting program requirements, discussing new and revised requirements, conducting Family Investment (FI) staff meetings, writing operating procedures, providing policy clarification, monitoring to ensure that staff are implementing the requirements correctly and provides customer service to both internal and external customers. Ensures compliance with federal and local policies by overseeing the timely and accurate completion of applications, redeterminations and corrective actions by meeting with the Assistant Manager, supervisors, individual case managers and utilizing the Client Information System (CIS), Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) systems, Data Watch as well as regularly generated reports including the Application Status Report and in house control systems; and performs other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Experience: Eight years of experience in administrative, professional or technical work, three years of which must have involved supervision of other employees or exercising responsibility for program development. Notes: 1. Applicants may substitute education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours on a year-for-year basis for a maximum of two years of the required general experience. 2. Experience in a human service program may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required four years of college education. 3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications or Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical, and Officer Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education, three (3) years of which must have been in an administrative supervisory or consultative capacity. DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s).
