Description
POSITION TITLE: University Ambassador (UA)
REPORTS TO: Director of Admissions
COMPENSATION: $11.25/hour
AVERAGE HOURS: Up to 10 hours per week, Hours may fluctuate week to week.
JOB PURPOSE: UAs are responsible for providing prospective students, their families, and other visitors to the campus an informative and worthwhile visit.
DUTIES: UAs will guide tours, direct parking for on campus events, conduct phone calls, write postcards, and assist with webinars. The overall responsibility is to receive and aid visitors and prospective students and families with the utmost respect.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
Sign up for and attend at least three (3) tour slots per week. (tour slots are: 10am,1pm, 3pm, Monday through Friday)
Complete thirty (30) phone call contacts per week.
Write a minimum of fifteen (15) handwritten postcards per week.
Assist & Manage Check/Move In before the beginning of the academic year.
Participate in all Open Houses during the academic year.
Assist with special events on a volunteer basis throughout the year including, but not limited to, Saturday tours, Junior Open Houses, Scholarship Days & Webinars.
Attend the mandatory monthly UA staff meetings.
Regularly check email, phone messages, and GroupMe from Enrollment staff and respond promptly and accordingly.
Dress appropriately as specified by the Enrollment staff during every tour and special event.
Agree to respect the Enrollment staff and fellow UA co-workers.
Abide by the University of Lynchburg's honor code: to not lie, cheat, or steal nor will tolerate such actions by others.
Follow the student code of conduct as outlined in The Hornet.
Complete Other Duties as Assigned.
