Job Description:

As an Early Career Buyer Planner, you will be mastering Supply Chain related competencies. Responsibilities

  • Understanding the daily, tactical execution of plant material requirements is a key to implementing sound strategies in the Supply Chain. You will be assigned to a commodity or value stream and will be responsible for ensuring the continuity of material to support daily needs. You will learn the basics of the Kollmorgen Materials System and will be responsible for maintaining and implementing the process to minimize inventory levels while ensuring availability.

  • Understanding the impact of other Supply Chain Management activities such as supplier management, buying, planning, part transition and quality on inventory will be a key take-away. Typical tasks include:

  • Negotiate price and delivery and issue purchase orders to qualified suppliers

  • Use tools to make an immediate positive impact on a manufacturing cell's performance.

  • Build relationships with suppliers to develop company value

  • Strengthen the supply chain by making it more responsive, agile, and sustainable

Competencies Developed in First 2-3 Years

  • Understanding how the Supply Chain and material supply impacts business performance

  • Product Knowledge:
    High-level knowledge of a product line and motor/drive technologies.

  • Customer Focus: Knows internal/external customer's needs and engages pro-actively to meet those needs.

  • Becoming proficient at tools used for continuous improvement

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required, degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred.

  • Previous internship experience in field of study preferred.

  • Leadership experience preferred.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of associates ranging from assembly technicians to management.
