Faculty Position in Cancer Research

University of Connecticut School of Medicine's Carole and Ray Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking applications from outstanding PhD and/or MD investigators for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level. The Cancer Center has special strengths in GI cancer, endocrine neoplasia, bone tumorigenesis and cancer immunology/immunotherapy.

Applications from candidates in these areas will be especially welcome particularly with respect to melanoma, noting that the Cancer Center hosts a newly established Melanoma Institute, which is meant to foster translational and clinical research in melanoma; and GI cancer, where we participate in a multidisciplinary translational program. The proximity of the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine on UConn's campus offers heightened opportunities for program development and collaboration. UConn's cancer research environment also includes interdisciplinary investigators in the Departments of Medicine, Pediatrics, Immunology, Neurosurgery, Genetics & Genome Sciences, and the School of Dental Medicine.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish or continue an independent and innovative research program with extramural funding, and to actively contribute to a rich scientific environment. Research is expected to occupy the large majority of the individual's effort; relevant contribution to the Center's teaching activities are also expected and, if appropriate, focused clinical activities are possible. Innovative investigators utilizing approaches across the spectrum from basic to clinical/translational research are welcome to apply, and start-up resources are very competitive.

UConn Health is composed of the schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine; Graduate Programs in Biomedical Sciences, Public Health and Clinical Translational Research; the John Dempsey Hospital, and the faculty practice. Our clinic, hospital and research facilities are in new or newly renovated state of the art facilities.

We offer a competitive benefits and salary package. Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest and curriculum vitae at https://jobs.uchc.edu/ search code #2019-935. UConn Health is an affirmative action employer, in addition to an EEO and M/F/V/PWD/PV employer.
