Ridgefield Crossing is seeking Temporary Universal Workers to join their team. The Universal Worker is an important role at the community and will help us navigate through this current environment. This role will be responsible in assisting both the Traditional and Harbor Care units in various needs.

  • Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist our residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.

  • Cleans common areas. Assists in tasks related to dining and food preparation (setting tables, busing, meal delivery and cleaning tables, cooking, serving meals, and dish-washing, etc.).

  • Provides assistance with recreational programs and encourages residents to participate in community activities.

  • Assist with any Front Desk responsibilities that might be assigned.

  • Observes residents, provides or assists with documentation. Responds promptly and appropriately to residents.

  • Demonstrates safe and proper techniques for chemical use, and follows SDS guidelines for any exposure.

  • Adheres to OSHA and Benchmark Senior Living Guidelines.

  • A high school education or higher education is not required to be hired into this job.

  • Understands the practices surrounding proper handling of biohazardous waste

  • Participates in training / in-services as required by Benchmark and state regulations

VIEW JOBS 5/9/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-08-07T00:00 Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and highly motivated Senior Scientist (Immunologist/Biologist/Biochemist) to join the Reagents and Mechanistic Investigations group (R&MI) in Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) at our US headquarters in Ridgefield, CT. The R&MI Group provides high quality critical reagents used in pharmacokinetics and immunogenicity bioanalyses with our in-depth reagent generation expertise and state-of-the art characterization technologies. The R&MI group also has established expertise in high-resolution mass spectrometry for in vivo protein characterization, cell-based assays for neutralizing antibody analysis, and mechanistic PK studies to support biologics development. The role requires a strong background in immunology, hands-on experience in polyclonal and monoclonal antibody generation using hybridoma, phage display, and/or B-cell approaches, antibody characterization and immunoassay development. The desired candidate is expected to have a basic understanding of the principles related to the discovery and/or development of new biologic entities. Main Responsibilities: * Lead the design of immunization and screening strategies to generate panels of anti-idiotypic antibodies and integrate data from multiple sources (binding, sequences, and protein characterization) to generate a complete data package that meets the bioanalytical needs of BI's biologics portfolio. * Oversee a group of scientists (>10) at a major CRO for reagent generation and establish a strong partnership. * Manage and mentor junior level scientists by assisting with experimental design and troubleshooting of reagent and bioanalytical challenges. * Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the antibody reagent campaigns are aligned with the bioanalytical strategy, and work with cross-functional teams. * Contribute to developing new methodologies, protocols and/or test procedures that meet group goals and reflect expert knowledge in reagent generation and characterization. * Assume departmental responsibility for biologic projects, represent DMPK department on drug development project teams to support PK and immunogenicity tasks. * Author technical reports and present results at periodic project review meetings; deliver updates to senior level management in context of overall project goals. * Independently apply basic scientific principles, perform literature searches, attend scientific meetings and keep abreast of literature in the field. Requirements: * PhD in Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology or related field or Master's degree with 5 years of relevant experience. * Demonstrated experience in antibody and reagent generation. * Experience designing and performing analytical immunoassays including antibody binding assays, ELISA, biosensor, flow cytometry, SDS-PAGE or HPLC. * Familiarity with PCR, molecular cloning and transfection of mammalian cells a plus. * Familiarity in protein expression and/or peptide synthesis a plus. * Attention to detail and strong organization skills. * Ability to critically evaluate and interpret data. * Capable of managing multiple projects with a high emphasis on quality and timelines. * Highly motivated with the ability to overcome challenges, develop and implement effective strategies and quickly adapt to new responsibilities. * Excellent communication skills in an inter-disciplinary environment - both orally and written. * Experience working in a GLP/GCP environment is desirable. * Understanding of approaches for advanced therapeutic modalities a plus.
