Job Summary:

The primary duty of this position will be to inspect, operate and maintain the aggregate plants facility to ensure quality products are available for use by internal and external customers. The various plants include: wash plant, manufactured (crushing) plant, a high speed cone plant and road base (lime treated) blending plant. The Aggregate Plant/Equip Operator is expected to perform tasks required to safely and efficiently operate fixed and mobile equipment typically used in an aggregate plant (including but not limited to: crushers, screens, washing equipment, loaders, excavators, bull dozers, skid steers, forklifts, man lifts). An Aggragate operator is also expected to be proficient in maintenance and repirs of fixed equipment typically found at an aggregate facility. Position must be able to keep up with fast paced environment loading multiple plants and trucks. Depending upon sales demand, this position will require at times to have off shifts, having various start times.

Duties:

• Operates front end loaders, dozers, backhoes, haul trucks, and other mobile equipment as required to move material from one location to another location, or to primary crusher

• Loads trucks and maintains proper quantities of material to be loaded

• Follow directions of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project

• Completes visual and daily safety inspection of equipment to ensure safe operations

• Ensures that safety, compliance, environmental, and OSHA and MSHA requirements are followed at all times.

• Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas at all times.

• Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires

• Follow established traffic patterns avoiding road hazards and other hazardous conditions

• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices

• Will be responsible for a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers and others at the work site

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
