Job Description Summary

Provides high quality customer service by meeting the needs of customers in an efficient and friendly manner while both servicing transactions and handling needs assessment and new account opening.

Essential Job Functions

  • Acts as the customers' first point of contact with the Bank, by serving the customers' total financial service needs by recognizing and uncovering opportunities and contributing directly to the success of the branch. (The time spent performing sales service or customer transactions will be determined by the needs of the branch)

  • Responsible for a broad range of basic to moderate activities in the branch including transaction processing, new account sales, customer servicing and referral generation.

  • Supports the Banks' sales objectives and campaigns by selling and cross-selling Bank products.

Assists the branch management with day-to-day transactions (including but not limited to approving transactions, preparing reports, etc.)

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience

  • S1 - None Requires limited job knowledge of systems and procedures. Follows basic work routines and standards.

Typically does not require prior experience.

Skills

  • Understands basic knowledge of bank deposits, lending products, credit products, and services to open accounts or refer customer to specialists partner

  • Execellent customer service skills that include good verbal and written communication

  • Relationship building, collaboration and teamwork

  • Problem Solving skills

  • MMCRM, Touchpoint Teller and Systems Training and new account opening

Salary/Wage: * $15.41 per hour plus benefits * This is a full-time, overtime non-exempt position Schedule: * The position will be scheduled for Monday - Wednesday 8 am - 5 pm, Thursday 12 pm - 9 pm, Friday 8 am - 5 pm and monthly weekend rotation. * All scheduling is based on the needs of the branch and is subject to change Reports to: Branch Management Employee Expectations: * Models excellent customer service attitude and assists customers in a tactful and effective manner * Provides a proactive level of customer service and assists customers through various aspects of utilizing the library * Supports, promotes, implements, and makes decisions based on established Library policies, guidelines, and programs * Contributes positively to the efforts of the Library * Establishes and maintains supportive working relationships with internal and external customers * Knowledge and support of the principles of intellectual freedom including the American Library Association Library Bill of Rights and the Freedom to Read Statement * Meets expectations set forth in Non-Exempt Employee Expectations Document * Exhibits self-motivation in managing changing priorities * Negotiates for win-win solution * Exhibits characteristics of life-long learner in willingness to investigate new ideas Essential Job Functions: * Learns, embraces and demonstrates technology * Acts as a guide for customers in use of the library and its resources * Recommends materials to customers, based on interests, needs and availability * Assists customers with library card accounts, including the receiving and recording of payment * Processes library materials for customer access * Ensures that library and its grounds are clean and orderly * Attends trainings off-site where transportation to another location in the service area will be expected * Uses creative techniques in displays to reach browsers who do not approach staff * Plans and creates eye-catching displays to break up the monotony of the stacks and draw customers into the collection * Opens and closes branch library * Ensures statistics are reported in a timely manner * Coordinates with branch staff on programs or events * Collaborates and dialogues with the Community Programming Department staff on an ongoing basis * Schedules programs in tandem with CPD staff and nearby branches * Informs and relays information regarding upcoming programs to branch staff * Strives to ensure that customers have the best programming experience possible * Researches branch community demographics and anecdotal experience to schedule appropriate programs * Seeks information of what other organizations are providing to the community * Develops relationships with community organizations Non-Essential Job Functions: * Shelves books and reads shelves for accurate material placement * Attends meetings, conferences and workshops * Performs basic custodial duties, as needed * Assists with branch special programs or events * May present library resources to outside groups Required Skills: * Uses effective verbal, written, and discreet communication * Performs duties requiring the exercise of professional skill, initiative and independent judgment * Successfully handles matters of conflict * Demonstrates proficiency in office productivity and other software * Exhibits knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System * Models excellent customer service attitude and delivery * Exhibits self-motivation with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities * Perform multiple tasks concurrently Experience and Training: * High School Diploma or GED Required * Bachelor's degree preferred * 2 years of relevant work experience required.
