United Way's current Healthy Meals Program sites are providing access to free and nutritious meals. While these sites are successful in meeting this basic need for the youth they normally serve, there is an immediate need for increased access to meals for walk-ins or unaffiliated youth; increased program efficiency by utilizing best practices for meal ordering, youth engagement, program operation and community outreach; increased activities to promote participation and volunteer engagement; and increased awareness of the program for parents and community members.
As a Summer Associate, you will work closely in targeted neighborhoods to help identify strategies to increase participation at summer meal sites. While United Way is the sponsor of this project and will conduct training and provide overall supervision, many partnerships contribute to the success of this program. The majority of time for this position will be spent on site at the location listed above. Candidates must commit to the full ten weeks of service from June 8-August 16, 2020.
