About the job:

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of youth resident milieu, including scheduling and supervising milieu staff, and ensuring the unit operates in a manner consistent with VOA values, and program policies and procedures.

Essentials:

  • Recruit, manage, and coach residential counselors in their positions for optimal performance and service delivery.

  • Partner with Program Manager to perform annual performance reviews, additional coaching, and feedback.

  • Partner with Program Manager to develop, lead, and maintain a healthy, supportive, and inclusive working culture.

  • Complete UKG requirements according to HR and Payroll.

  • Provide leadership and support staff development and growth in team meetings and on the unit

  • Ensure milieu offers a therapeutic, safe, and clean environment.

  • Ensure resident treatment/service plans and interventions plans are followed daily.

  • Participate in all formal treatment/service plan reviews.

  • Provides input on all services to the Case Manager.

  • Provides ongoing communication and documentation regarding routine environmental and individual cases to team and staff.

  • Participates in admission and discharge milieu processes for each resident.

  • Ensures milieu staff are fulfilling duties as assigned.

  • When necessary, provides milieu support which may include crisis intervention and utilization of Handle with Care techniques.

  • Educates and supports residential counselors and understanding of program philosophy and expectations.

  • Supervise and coach staff to ensure implementation of program expectations including and not limited to, regular 1:1's, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans, as necessary.

  • Responsible for ensuring all residential counselor files are up to date with necessary documentation, including notes for all performance coaching.

  • Collect and track service data as assigned, and assist program manager with quarterly and annual data reports as assigned.

  • Maintain organizational documentation standards.

  • Complete Residential Counselors progress evaluations.

  • Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience including 3 or more years of residential experience and at least 1 year of leadership experience.

  • Previous experience working with children/adolescents in a residential treatment setting preferred.

  • Must be 21 year of age or older.

  • A current and valid Driver's license with minimal violations on record.
