The AC unit is a 33-bed unit providing multiple levels of care to acute and chronically ill patients with a variety of medical/surgical diagnosis.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

• Performs clerical and receptionist duties by assisting Department Manager in coordinating and managing unit. Functions as a communication link from Nursing Department to other departments of the hospital.
• Assists in maintaining an efficient physical environment in the department.
• Assists patients, visitors, staff, and physicians in the department as needed.
• Assists licensed nursing personnel in providing patient care in accordance with established methods and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• High school or equivalent
• Completion of Nursing Assistant Training Program and received Colorado CNA license or Certified as a Medical Assistant or hold an EMT license.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

Skills:

• Basic typing and computer skills
• Communication skills

Experience:

• One year Unit Secretary experience preferred, or experience in medical field.

SALARY RANGE

• $20.41 - $30.02/hour
• Entry salary dependent upon education, skill set, and experience.
