Job Description:

Responsible for providing clerical support for all employees within an assigned nursing unit. Maintains and updates patients' records for a given unit.

Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. High school diploma with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

What You Will Do Perform administrative and clerical duties in support of an assigned clinical area. * Greet patients and visitors, answer/screen/route telephone calls, files, distribute mail and performs other general clerical duties. * Communicate with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members about patient care according to protocol. Schedule patients for individual appointment and in a timely manner. * Provide assistance with programs/software for Physicians/Clinicians through the order entry processes, transfers and discharges. Assemble and maintain patient charts. * Coordinate meetings/schedules meetings/rooms with the appropriate person, send notices as requested. Maintain meeting minutes. Enter and maintain timekeeping changes and staff schedules in computer systems. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: * BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred. Education: * High school diploma or GED required.
