Description:

The Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech supports the assigned unit by facilitating communication with patients, staff, physicians, visitors and ancillary departments. The Unit Secretary directs incoming calls and responds to patient calls.

The Unit Secretary enters physician's orders in the Information System. The Unit Secretary maintains patient's charts, unit files and secretarial supply levels. The Unit Secretary is responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment.

Follows Telemetry Monitoring Policy & Procedures. Reports all abnormal findings to RN immediately. Records strips per policy.

ICU - FT - Days

Licensure/Certification/Registration: None.

Education: High School Graduate

Experience: No experience required.

Special Qualifications: Knowledge of medical terminology valued.
