Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking an experienced Unit Secretary to join the team on our Labor and Delivery floor!

Schedule: Part-time night shift (24 hours/week) / Every other weekend and rotating holidays

The Unit Secretary will be responsible for the reception, communication, clerical activities and other related assigned duties of the unit, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Offers assistance, handles inquiries and supplies information to physicians, visitors, patients and hospital personnel in a courteous professional manner.

  • Answers the telephone promptly and professionally by giving proper identification of who is answering the telephone.

  • Answers the patient call system promptly and courteously. Use the approved system for alerting staff of patient needs.

  • Coordinates and processes efficiently the admission, transfer and discharge of patients.

  • Enters departmental charges appropriately, accurately and efficiently.

  • Assists in the orientation/training of new Unit Secretaries.

  • Possesses good organizational skills and works in an organized manner.

  • Charts reports promptly (x-ray reports, EKG reports). Maintains charts with adequate number of additional chart forms.

  • Performs other related duties specific to unit as delegated by Nursing Unit Manager.

  • Maintains policy and procedure manuals and Medical Dental roster book.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.

  • Previous experience in the hospital or physician practice setting required.

  • Computer literacy required.

  • Familiarity with Medical Terminology desired.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Able to perform all skills and competencies as defined in the US skills checklist within 3 months of employment.

VIEW JOBS 3/29/2022 12:00:00 AM 2022-06-27T00:00 Nemours is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse for our Advanced Delivery Unit in Wilmington, DE. This scheduled is 48 hours every two week, 12-hour night shifts from r 7pm to 7am, with every third weekend and holiday rotations. As Delaware's only Pediatric Hospital, Nemours now provides a state-of-the-art Advanced Delivery Program (ADP) for healthy, expectant mothers whose unborn child will require immediate and complex care after delivery. Our post-natal neonates require a full spectrum of complex medical and surgical management, including the state's only neonatal extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) center. At the heart of our neonatal care team, our CICU & NICU nurses provide care to neonates of varying diagnoses, including extreme prematurity, as well as illnesses of the respiratory, cardiac, neurologic, gastrointestinal, renal/urologic, skeletal, and metabolic systems. The ADP currently provides care for up to 50 patients in our state-of-the-art unit with continued growth annually. The addition of an ADP in 2019 has enhanced the management of neonates with known congenital anomalies at the time of delivery. The ADP team provides a highly personalized environment that supports the mother baby dyad. Our ADP mothers are able to labor, deliver, and recover within our closed obstetrical unit. After delivery, families will be in close proximity to their babies who will be recovering in one of our intensive care units. Additional Requirements: BSN preferred or actively enrolled in a BSN program.
