Location: Orange, CA
Work Schedule: Full time
Shift: 10-hour, Days
Job Summary:
Responsible for manning the nursing station and performing clerical and receptionist duties. Requisitions supplies, equipment, and services from other departments.
Essential Functions:
Acts in an organized manner for the nursing station, answering inquiries of a general nature through utilization of phone, call light and paging system, message relaying, and promotion of good working relationships with intra-department and inter-department personnel.
Coordinates and requisitions routine services, supplies, and equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation of the unit.
Demonstrates efficiency in performance of clerical duties to ensure efficient daily unit operation.
Demonstrates responsibility for the containment of hospital costs and conservation of office supplies, environment and equipment.
Maintains and organizes accurate hospital and department records.
Assist with maintenance of policy/procedure and reference manuals, memo distributions, and organized and neat bulletin boards.
Enters data into computer in an accurate and timely manner.
Demonstrates efficiency and accuracy in correctly assembling, maintaining, and disassembling each medical record.
Schedules TMC and Lestonnac appointments and phone collections/distributions.
Demonstrates knowledge, prioritizes and completes transcription of physician orders in a timely manner.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining a satisfactory physical environment in the nursing station irrespective of nursing activity.
Creates and sustains positive working relationships between patients and members of the health care team.
Skills:
Able to communicate effectively.
Knowledge on medical terminology.
Basic knowledge of a windows environment computer system.
Effective skills in communication, problem solving, interpersonal relationships and prioritization.
Able to give constructive feedback.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Education: H.S. Diploma or GED
License / Certifications:
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
Existing caregivers must obtain BLS by September 1, 2018.
Preferred Position Qualifications:
Education: Coursework/Training
Experience: Hospital clerical experience.
