Responsibilities

1.Receives report on patient/resident status from previous shift, evaluates and ensures resources in place to meet needs2. Makes physical rounds assessing quality of care, intervening with provision of care and interacting with care givers and patients/residents3.

Provides leadership and support with care in carrying out their responsibility in a professional manner to include but not limited to: timely medication passes, required care plans as directed by physician and/or Registered Nurse, documentation and treatments.4. Evaluates performance of direct care team members and informs Director of Nursing Services if there are any coaching or corrective action opportunities. Assists with investigation as needed or required.5.

Evaluates and monitors to verify patient/residents' needs are met and policies and procedures are followed.6. Evaluates critically ill residents; reports findings to physician and records observations; may provide direct care as needed. Notifies Director of Nursing Services and Administrator according to policy and practice.7.

Responds and coordinates actions in emergency situations notifying the Director of Nursing Services and Administrator according to policy and procedure.8. Works with Director of Nursing Services to facilitate solutions to any systemic or procedural concerns.9. Ensures safe work practices are followed.10.

Provides empathetic communication to families, patient/residents regarding change of condition and in response to care concerns.11. Ensures resident rights are respected.12. Works directly with care team members to assure care is provided.13. Other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing Services and/or Administrator.

Qualifications

1.Current license by the State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse with experience in the long-term care industry preferred; at least three years nursing experience required.2. Ability to plan, evaluate and coordinate services.3. Experience in triaging tasks, supervision of nursing team members and coordination of services to provide the optimum resident and patient experience.

We are conveniently located at Walnut Hill &amp; 75 in the prestigious North Park area. Specialties include: Orthopedics, Spine, General Surgery, Pain Management, Urology, GI/Endoscopy, Plastic, and Podiatry surgeries. Managed by United Surgical Partners International &amp; Joint Commission Accredited.</p><p>Job Description:</p><p>North Central Surgical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Post Surgical Unit team during our peak season at North Central Surgical Center:</p><ul><li>SEASONAL</li><li>NIGHTS 6:30pm-7am</li><li>START: ON OR BEFORE 11/1/2022</li><li>END: AFTER 12 WEEKS OR NO LATER THAN 12/31</li><li>$65.00 PER HOUR</li><li>$2,000 BONUS PAID UPON COMPLETION</li></ul><p>PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS</p><ul><li><p>Completion bonus is to be paid after completing 12 consecutive weeks of employment while meeting all shift requirements during that time period. Only one (1) completion bonus will be paid per the 12-week commitment.</p></li><li><p>All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.</p></li><li><p>Four (4) weekend shifts are required for each 4-week schedule period.</p></li><li><p>During the 12-week period, the employee must work one (1) holiday shift (defined by Department Manager or designee).</p></li><li><p>Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There is no guarantee of hours by the hospital.</p></li><li><p>Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401k.</p></li><li><p>Current North Central employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program.</p></li><li><p>Current USPI employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program.</p></li></ul><p>POSITION SUMMARY AND DUTIES:</p><p>The RN is responsible for planning, directing, organizing, coordinating, and implementing all nursing care services for the post-surgical and medical patients in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care. RN ensures the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care maintains compliance with professional nursing, Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards of care.
