Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to generate sales/commission revenues by providing marketing and sales support of fixed income investments with a primary focus in Unit Investment Trusts (UITs). Detailed instructions, procedures and guidelines are provided to perform routine tasks with limited decision making responsibility. Regular contact with internal and external customers is required to obtain, clarify, or provide facts or information. Resolves routine questions and problems and refers new or unusual issues to a higher level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in providing marketing and trading support to Financial Advisors.

  • Answers telephones for quotes, orders and general product information.

  • Assists in responding to inquiries from Financial Advisors about the department's investment philosophies, products and services.

  • Assists with the dissemination of timely marketing materials for UITs and/or fixed income products and services targeted at financial advisors and investors.

  • Facilitates order processing and execution including offering set ups and other trading desk administrative functions.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Maintains a team culture that is focused on balanced education and best in class advisor service.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Basic Knowledge of:

  • Principles and practices of customer relations, marketing and communications.

  • Investment concepts, practices and procedures used in the securities industry.

  • Financial markets and products.

  • Company's working structure, policies, mission, and strategies.

Skill in:

  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software including email, graphics, presentation, spreadsheet, database, and project management software. Including HTML and PDF document formatting.

  • Gathering, compiling and updating information and maintaining distribution lists.

  • Performing basic research.

  • Marketing and sales.

  • Using technical/professional knowledge, interpersonal and sales to obtain customers' commitment to ideas, services or products.

  • Maintaining databases.

  • Preparing and delivering clear, convincing and professional presentations to small and large audiences.

  • Organizing, managing and tracking multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

Educational/Previous Experience

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in Finance, Accounting, Marketing or Business.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied.
  • FINRA Series 7 License or the ability to obtain within (90) ninety days of hire date.

Serves as a Technical Advisor to teams. Some guidance is provided to perform varied work that is somewhat difficult in nature and that requires evaluation, originality and ingenuity to make moderately complex decisions. Resolves or recommends solutions to complex problems. Maintains extensive contact with internal customers to identify, research, and resolve problems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Assists in overseeing compliance program(s) for an assigned business entity to ensure compliance processes and procedures are integrated and aligned with business processes. * Adjusts existing programs, policies and procedures, as directed. * Provides support and guidance for compliance efforts in assigned business entity. * Assists management in implementing adequate controls and quality assurance processes to provide early identification of potential compliance problems. * Assists in researching compliance issues. * Assists in developing compliance training programs, including maintaining training records and coordinating training with other compliance activities. * Reports compliance program status and activities to compliance management. * Assists with external compliance examinations, including gathering requested information and reports. * Prepares and delivers written and oral presentations to business units. * Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
