Millwood Hospital is currently seeking a dynamic Unit Clerk to join our team!
The primary function of the Unit Clerk is to function as an active part of the treatment team, providing administrative services to the unit. The Unit Clerk works directly under the direction of the Nurse Manager and must works closely with Doctors, Nurses, Court Clerks, vendors, and others in the organization to prepare Legal Documents, order, receive, and distribute supplies and forms, answer telephones, take messages, file chart documents, host visitors, and may, under supervision, take off Doctor's Orders.
Education: High School Degree or equivalent is required
Experience: Prefer one (1) year of experience in a psychiatric care facility with knowledge of techniques and with understanding of mental illness. Ability to order supplies, equipment, forms, and have the ability to inventory and distribute materials is preferred.
Successful completion of hospital's designated behavioral and physical management training program including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restrain required prior to assisting in the procedures.
Must have demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and initiative. Completes all other tasks as may be requested.
