The Union Relations / Human Resources Manager will work closely with Operational leaders, other Human Resources Managers, salaried employees, four Unions on site and the represented hourly workforce to achieve business objectives and promote positive Union relations.
In this role you will utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
In addition, you will:
Provide advice and counsel to management and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures, and practices
Establish and maintain excellent relationships with Union leadership
Administer and support all Wabtec HR policies and initiatives within the constituent plants
Be responsible for the administration of grievance procedure, and of collective bargaining agreements
Partner with business leaders on multiple human resource issues, including the following: policies, processes, and practices; evaluation and development of personnel, annual reviews; implementation of process improvement including leading change initiatives, planning, and facilitation; staffing and pipeline development
Investigate and provide counsel / advice regarding concerns about contractual issues
Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment, which encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities; act as an employee advocate; help drive various business initiatives
Establish, modify, and support local HR practices and policies as required
Responsible for investigations, conflict resolution, employee communications and management coaching
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a human resources generalist
Minimum of 5 years experience as an human resources generalist
HR experience in a unionzed Manufacturing environment
Master's degree in Business Administration or Human Resources is preferred (MHR, MILR, MBA)
Proven training ability
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
