Union Payroll Specialist

The Union Payroll Specialist will oversee the setup, reporting and general ledger reconciliations for union employees and union benefits.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monthly reporting for over 50 unions, setup of all union rates, earnings and deductions, based on individual contracts in multiple states across various construction job types.

  • Setup HRIS system with union rates, fringe benefits, and liability codes

  • Confirm accuracy of payroll calculations based on contractual obligations

  • Liaison between company and union offices

  • Monthly reporting and remittances to unions

  • General Ledger reconciliation and quarterly reporting for pension funds

  • Responsible for union audits

  • High School Graduate

  • Knowledge of union process and reporting

  • Prior experience with union setup and reporting preferred

  • Knowledge of union processes and computer skills

  • Good communication skills with a team player attitude

  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning payroll financial issues

VIEW JOBS 11/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-04T00:00 Payroll Tax Manager The Payroll Tax Manager oversees all payroll tax issues including agency notices, tax filings, and account registrations. Responsibilities include, multi-state withholding, state unemployment and local registrations, officer and entity account updates, weekly, monthly quarterly and annual filings and compliance updates, working with ADP to research and resolve tax issues, performing employee setup audits and make sure we have necessary paperwork on file based on state and Federal requirements, filing amendments as needed and work to combine unemployment accounts for mergers and acquisitions when required. * Review and coordinate resolution of all payroll tax notices from agencies (Federal, State, and local jurisdictions) * Responsible for timely and accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings * Manage state and local accounts for address, officer or entity changes as well as transfer or accounts from mergers and acquisitions * Register for new state accounts as needed * Reconcile GL accounts for employee withholding to ADP invoices * Maintain compliance for multi-state payroll for tax setup * Audit employee setup and confirm paperwork is on file for state forms including standard withholding and reciprocal agreements * File amendments as needed * Manage and maintain 3rd party vendors as they relate to tax filings (STD, LTD etc) * Reconcile tax filings with payroll registers * Review and update both SUI rates and wage limits for each state within HRIS system * Maintain list of active accounts for multiple entities * Assist with researching Canadian tax law as needed for Canadian payroll * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or Related Field * 2 -3 years of multi-state, multi-entity payroll tax experience * Experience with M&A - highly preferred * Knowledge of multi-state tax compliance * Knowledge of M&A tax implications * Experience with state account registration IEA is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
