As a Laborer Journeyman, your primary duties include preparation, handling, and supplying of materials to be used by other crafts.


  • Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites

  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging

  • Level ground for scaffolding

  • Tend mortar and grout

  • Lift, unload, move, set, shovel mortar and grout between wheel barrows and buckets

  • General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris

  • Placing, pushing, pulling and shoveling concrete

  • Vibrating concrete

  • All other duties as assigned

  • All team members are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • Ability to work with tools and equipment such as, power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills and jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders and power buggy's

  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50 lbs

  • Strong teamwork orientation

  • Positive attitude and professional customer service skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to multitask

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Requires two-year apprenticeship program completion

  • Experience in construction preferred but not required

VIEW JOBS 1/10/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-10T00:00 This is objective-level certified nursing assistant (CNA) work with responsibility for providing direct and indirect nursing care, in accordance with standards set by the American Nurses Association; gerontological nursing practice; federal, state and Veterans Administration (VA) regulations; and the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove (WVHUG) and the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA). Responsibilities include providing nursing care that follows a written care plan to help meet the therapeutic, preventative, restorative, spiritual, psychosocial, cognitive, and rehabilitative needs of WVHUG members. This includes cognitive techniques to help maintain the demented member at the highest functional level. This position works as an integral part of the health care team, under the direction of licensed nursing staff, with limited supervision by a Nursing Supervisor. Special Notes: Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to an offer of employment. The positions are part-time with the ability to pick up additional hours up to full-time. NOTE: These are PRN/casual positions with flexible schedules. Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) test. Qualifications: Minimally-qualified applicants must be18 years of age on or before the effective date of the appointment and have the following: * A current State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant certification and eligibility to work in a federally-certified nursing home as a Certified Nursing Assistant * The ability to work varying hours and/or overtime shifts as required, including attending 1-1/2 weeks of orientation * The ability to work in the conditions of position (i.e., perform light housekeeping, assist patients with daily living activities; maintain hygiene, use special safety equipment, wear personal protective equipment and clothing; lift, carry, push, pull, reach, sit, kneel, squat, and stand and/or walk up to 75% of an 8-hour day) * Experience or education in providing Basic Nursing Care (e.g., complete daily nursing cares; follow goals and approaches; assist patients with personal care tasks; encourage and assist food intake; assist with ambulation and transfers; obtain temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, output and specimen for lab analysis; administer basic procedures; assist patient participation in activities; utilize infection control practices; observe and report of significant condition changes; prioritizing patient needs) * Interpersonal Skills (e.g., establish and maintain relationships, assist licensed staff; provide information; work as part of a team; orient and mentor new nursing assistants) * Experience with Recordkeeping (e.g., patient charting; recording facts and observations) Well-qualified applicants will have the following experience: * Providing Advanced Nursing Care * Maintaining Equipment and Inventory * Using Computers * Performing Safety and Security Functions * Working in a Relevant Setting State Of Wisconsin Racine WI
