The Role

The UC/Skype Engineer will deploy, support and operate the HITACHI VANTARA Lync/SFB (Skype for Business) infrastructure for a globally distributed environment. This role requires strong demonstrated skills in the Lync/SFB technology and regular interaction with cross functional teams, client and vendors.

Responsibilities

This individual will be responsible for producing all required deliverables including the following:

  • System design

  • Documentation

  • Operation guides

  • Provide day to day operations

  • Escalation support as appropriate

Focus will be on developing and testing mission critical enterprise solutions and implementation across multiple geographies of custom application development using Power-Shell and advanced components of Microsoft technology. International and domestic travel could be required - up to 10%

  • Requires 5 years of technical experience in the fields of systems administration, systems integration and networking

  • Expertise with Skype for Business

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical field

  • Vendor experience with: Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco, Audiocode, Sonus

  • Certificates preferred: MCSE, SFB, Lync, CCNA, CVoice

  • Other: Powershell, other scripting tools, network diagnostic tools

VIEW JOBS 11/22/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-20T00:00 The Senior Communications Engineer will provide technical expertise for collaboration equipment used for meetings, presentations and events including but not limited to design, configuration, installation, maintenance, application integration, troubleshooting and testing. The Role is responsible for managing telephonic, audio, visual and multi-media technology within the corporate infrastructure. This position has authority for the entire telephonic, collaboration, video/audio conference infrastructure and systems for Starz. The Senior Communications Engineer will be responsible for providing capacity planning information, managing network security and supporting the day-to-day activities of the corporate network. The incumbent will provide technical leadership and mentoring of other Network/Support Engineers. The position is also responsible for maintaining expertise on new, innovative, and emerging industry technologies, solutions, and best practices for improving the design and delivery of collaboration and communication services and equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Performs network administration duties such as WAN/LAN configuration, wiring and installation, network applications, and external communication. * Responsible for Cisco network equipment. * Responsible for firewall and load-balancer network equipment. * Responsible for Capacity planning and network architecture. * Maintain the entire Cisco collaboration system, including user training, API integration, upgrades, modifications and administration. Design, test and implement Cisco CMS, Expressway, Webex Teams, Webex Meetings and associated systems. * Control and maintain the entire Cisco communication system, including CUCM, Cisco Unity, Voice Gateway end points and Attendant Console. * Performs network administration duties such as WAN/LAN configuration, wiring and installation, network applications, and external communication. * Responsible for Network and infrastructure security and Network management. * Researches and provides guidance for long-term planning and network improvements. * Create and control all aspects of telephony, including DIDs, PBXs, relationships with PSTNs, SIP trunks, telco circuits and international dial plans. * Create AV solutions to business challenges and working with other departments and vendors to implement. * Support meetings and craft new and unique solutions for Starz Originals reviews where a high quality of audio and video are required. * Create new solutions to upgrade the audio-visual/presentation capabilities in multiple locations and multiple conference rooms. Manage the entire process, from creating the solution,conducting RFPs, and managing the implementation. Implementation includes managing multiple vendors. * Manage full lifecycle of assets used in all Starz locations. Maintains inventory of equipment and required supplies needed to keep the equipment functional. * Create budget proposals for services and equipment to address business needs and manage capital and expense lines. * Develops strong inter-department working relationships. * Develops procedures and policies for operation. * Generate and update technical documentation for services and equipment. Required Skills Education, Knowledge, and Experience: * Bachelor's Degree preferred; Minimum 10 years of network experience; Experience in TCP/IP networks, network security and client/server computing environments; Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills and demonstrated collaborative work. * Demonstrated advanced expertise in installing, integrating, configuring, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting communication and collaboration equipment and services. * Proven experience in managing multiple vendors and contract negotiation. * Strong judgment and problem analysis techniques. * Complex communication design, API integration and development proficiencies. * Basic hardware and software problem solving, problem solving and use of Windows and Mac operating system and Microsoft Office applications. * CCNP or CCIE preferred. * Advanced understanding of IT networking principles. * Experience with broadcast, media, and entertainment; Working with large media files and automated workflows. * SAN experience helpful. * Demonstrated experience effectively collaborating with other functions (e.g. executives, facilities, public relations, creative services and external partners).
