General Summary:

Provide strategic planning, innovative solutions and technical knowledge in order to design, implement and support Dell EMC's Global Unified Communications enterprise Conferencing and related technologies (e.g. audio/video/web conferencing, Skype, digital signage, etc.). Take the lead on projects from initiation to completion for Conferencing and related infrastructures. Perform requirements analysis and develop hardware/software solutions to provide Conferencing solutions to business requirements. Coordinate and review the installation of hardware, implementation of software, reviewing conference management and monitoring tools.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the planning and development of complex global conferencing infrastructures both on premise and hosted

  • Stay abreast of current technologies, make recommendations based on knowledge and research

  • Interface with Global carriers to help develop and implement conferencing solutions

  • Work on complex problems and provide innovative suggestions for solutions

  • Identify inefficiencies and make suggestions for process improvements

  • Collaborate with other engineering groups, readily share information with others

  • Actively seek customer input and take responsibility for customer situations if necessary

  • Take part in local/regional/global 24/7 on-call rotation as required

  • Provides on-site conferencing support for Dell EMC's offices in Hopkinton, Franklin and Southboro, MA

  • Minimal travel required to major Dell events in North America (approximately 2 trips/year)


  • Bachelor's degree (technical) with 5+ years relevant experience; or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge in Pervasive and Immersive video, digital signage, WebEx (or other web conferencing tools), desktop video, multi-casting live and pre-recorded content, etc.

  • Experience working with Cisco and/or Polycom conferencing systems

  • Strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Knowledge of job associated database/software/documentation

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US with no restrictions; visa sponsorship not offered with this position

This critical role is in support of Ryder's cloud-native data ingestion into the data lake via Ryder's API Gateway and Enterprise Integration services. This position will contribute to the successful support and operations of Ryder's data and analytics platform. The Data Engineer will contribute to the innovative vision of Ryder's digital platform and be part of a team that harnesses this data to: * Develop and maintain an ETL and data management strategy * Integrate disparate data sources to prioritize, synthesize and develop solutions to key business problems * Utilize data modeling techniques to prepare data for reporting or analytical processes * Design data structures capable of being used in analytical dashboards, reports and queries to drive strategic business decisions, ad-hoc analysis and identify descriptive and prescriptive solutions for internal Ryder teams and our external customers * Think on your feet, communicate constantly and professionally, and above all else drive solutions to meet the expectations of our external and internal customer's business requirements * Proven history and experience in Alteryx a strong plus * Strong predictive analytics not required but a plus The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology with good understanding of their applicability to business, a relentless focus on the customer experience and an ability to multitask, assimilate data, make decisions and prioritize complex work while paying attention to the details. Requirements * Bachelor's degree Business Administration, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Data Analytics or equivalent * Master's degree Computer Science, Data Analytics, Operational Research, Mathematics or equivalent preferred * Two (2) to four (4) years or more experience in demonstrating advanced analytics, digital transformation, data management, dashboarding and/or product management skills in an educational/project or intern type environment with a Bachelor's degree * One (1) year or more experience in demonstrating advanced analytics, digital transformation, data management, dashboarding and/or product management skills in an educational/project or intern type environment with a Master's degree * Two (2) to four (4) years or more experience in analytics, data extraction, transformation & loading, data visualization, and agile development. Experience working in a cloud environment a plus (AWS/Azure) preferred * Ability to: * Articulate issues, present "pros and cons" and provide solutions to next supervisory level preferred * Express complex technical concepts in business terms * Partner with colleagues to identify the role that data, cloud, and intelligence play in the digital product, defining tactical opportunities to build into product roadmap * Partner with technology teams to identify the platform and cloud capabilities required to support product innovation, working closely with technology throughout the build, test, and release of the product using continuous improvement continuous deployment processes * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Time management, collaboration, organization and presentation skills. Establish standards, processes, methodologies and governance for data integration across the enterprise to ensure the data is relevant, clean and usable. Demonstrate Data Integration leadership across disciplines and domains to facilitate consensus, buy-in and adoption by engaging, teaching, training, and mentoring peers and associates * Develop Dashboards by understanding business needs, interpret the integrated data and translate this into usable visualizations to drive business decisions. Assist the business with interpreting results and how to utilize the dashboards. Support the business with evaluating needs and ad-hoc requests to prioritize efforts.
