Unified Communication Engineer III
A Unified Communication Engineer III will have at least 5+ years of extensive converged Cisco or Avaya Unified Communications Voice/Video architecture, design and implementation experience. Unified Communication Engineer III should have extensive experience designing and implementing the latest network technologies, such as VoIP, VPN, routing and switching.
Must use extensive experience with Cisco routing/switching concepts for implementation and repair of Avaya/Cisco VoIP
Provide escalation support for complex end-user oriented break/fix repair, and move, add, change (MAC) requests on converged Avaya/Cisco VoIP/Video Unified Communication platforms and related peripheral systems (voicemail, etc ) and when required, coordinate the efforts of others during the MAC/break-fix process.
Design and troubleshoot VoIP call routing using Avaya/Cisco CM, SME, System Manager, and Session Border Controllers.Configures and deploys Avaya/Cisco gateways for VoIP installations
Strong working knowledge of Avaya and Cisco call routing principles, and can use that knowledge in break/fix and MAC situations
Unified Communication Engineer III has responsibility for maintaining the Cloud based converged Avaya/Cisco Unified Communications VoIP/Video services, and related switching/routing infrastructure and associated peripherals. (25%)
Provide system wide impacting break/fix support of cloud technologies, this includes Cisco/Avaya/ACME/Veramark, etc (25%)
Technical Lead for Cisco or Avaya VoIP deployment projects for customer sites (20 Lead requirements gathering on Cisco or Avaya VOIP projects
Lead Cisco or Avaya VOIP project design work
Determine impact of known and anticipated business needs upon system configurations in use
Technical Lead for high end leading edge Voice/Video Unified Communication Technologies (20%)
Cisco collaborative EDGE
Integration with customer provided Telepresence environments
Work with customer technical personnel to diagnose and resolve integration issues within the customer environment. (10%)
Four years of College resulting in a Bachelors Degree. Area of concentration in IT would be a plus.
Avaya Certifications both previous (ACA/ACS/ACE) or current (ACIS/ACSS/ACSA or equivalent is a plus
Cisco Certifications (CCNA/CCNA Voice/CCVP or Higher) or equivalent is a plus
At least 6+ years of experience designing and implementing Cisco and Avaya Voice/Video converged platforms
Strong experience with Avaya and Cisco Voice/Video Unified Communication systems features, operations, translations and interactions
Strong experience with VoIP best practices, processes and procedures for support and maintain of Avaya and Cisco Voice/Video communication platforms
Requires the ability to determine appropriateness of hardware/software changes and/or modifications related to the Avaya and Cisco Voice/Video platforms
Able to understand alarm and error logs and remotely resolve/escalate as required
Strong working knowledge IP networking concepts
Strong knowledge of premise based cable and fiber standards
