Our Lacey Claims Center provides timely and accurate unemployment benefits, information and referrals to appropriate resources. We are in need of several non-permanent Intake Agents (Unemployment Insurance (UI) Specialist 2) to assist claimants in filing UI claims and troubleshooting any issues that may arise, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, fairness and accessibility of unemployment insurance benefits. We need individuals with strong customer service skills as you will be greeting customers by telephone, determining their needs and assisting with claim issues, answering questions and reopening claims.

Duties

As a member of the Intake team, you will provide assistance and problem resolution to claimants attempting to file Unemployment Insurance claims. You will be relied upon to process initial claims and add-claims, re-open claims, supply input for monetary re-determinations for UI claims and assist in resolving issues which may affect timely and accurate payments.?

Some of what you'll enjoy doing:

  • Answering questions from claimants regarding procedures, laws and policies with respect to unemployment insurance.

  • Investigate, and detect unemployment issues and take action on customer calls.

  • Handle complaint calls from claimants and, if necessary escalate to appropriate level.

  • Answer complex questions from employers, claimants, and others, advising those affected, based on UI laws, policies, and procedures.

  • Apply complex laws and policies, rules, regulations, and procedures applicable to the unemployment insurance program.

  • Review documents for completeness, accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Identify specific issues relative to eligibility and refer to Adjudication for determination.

  • Conduct telephone interviews and review and obtain work history and verify earnings and hours in order to complete routine and complex claims.

  • Communicate reporting requirements, benefits and eligibility rights to claimants, employers, and third parties.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree and one year of professional level experience providing customer service in areas such as unemployment insurance, social services, human resource services, education, public relations, benefits programs, or insurance claims, a combination of education and/or relevant experience.

Customer service experience, as specified above, will substitute, year for year, for education.

  • OR Successful completion of the Basic UI Training Course as a UI Specialist 1.
  • OR Six months of experience in a classification equivalent to UI Specialist 1 in another state's Employment Security agency.

Our Workforce Information & Technology Services (WITS) Division improves our business by providing innovative IT support and services. We are in need of an Information Technology Specialist 6, IT Governance Manager (ITS6) to provide the highest level of operational oversight for our division governance program. IT Governance coordinates the development and auditing of the end-to-end Information Technology Services and Security policies, including standards, process & procedures, etc. to ensure WITS Division initiatives are aligned with agency objectives and create security and value for the agency. Duties As the IT Governance manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation and maintenance of the enterprise system development, security and operations policy, leading department internal quality assessment efforts, and owning the employee governance awareness training program. In this role you will assist the Chief Information Security Officer in advising and collaborating on development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, quality audit, and governmental security policy compliance practices. Process Engineering * Analyzing current IT and IT Security policies, process standards, procedures and metrics in order to provide solutions for operational improvements. * Performing data gathering, root cause analysis and performance trending in order to develop appropriate process control changes. * Coordinating with Subject Matter Experts to develop process improvement reports for setting forth progress, adverse trends and recommendations. Quality Assurance * Developing and implementing an ongoing quality assessment program targeting information technology policy matters; recommends methods for early detection and remediation, and oversee quality control testing. * Developing and maintaining department information technology quality conformance tracking. * Drafting quality assurance policies and procedures by interpreting and implement quality assurance standards in line with OCIO and ESD policies. Conducting application, hardware or system vulnerability and compliance testing * Providing management and technical leadership on the vulnerability management aspects of information systems. * Assuring the security of all systems, data, and biomedical research information while maintaining connectivity and interoperability. * Identifying critical information systems security issues. * Identifying, evaluating, or recommending new solutions, technologies, and advanced techniques in the field of information security. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. AND * Four (4) years of experience in information technology that includes hardware and software systems administration and computer programming may substitute for the education requirement OR a combination of education and relevant IT experience. Including: * Four (4) years of full-time, professional experience as a technical Program Manager, including expert knowledge of project management methods and best practices. * Four (4) years of experience with process engineering, quality assurance, auditing, risk analysis or information security practices. (Experience may have been gained concurrently with the above). The most successful candidates will also have demonstrated skills in: * Ability to engage and lead a team of technical and business staff. * Effective communicator, which includes verbal, written and listening. * Highly organized and able to keep track of all aspects of a project. * Expertise in solving problems. Desired Qualifications: * Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP) or other equivalent certifications. * Systems security skills – knowledge of system security issues. * IT project management skills.
