This credit union is seeking an Underwriting Specialist who will be responsible for viewing, analyzing, and underwriting basic consumer loan applications. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Job Duties:
Evaluate risk utilizing a thorough analysis of the borrowers application, account and credit information, and approve both direct and indirect loans within limits
Evaluate credit reports and accounts to identify sales opportunities
Work closely with Loan Specialists and other Credit Union staff as needed to process loans quickly and efficiently
Assemble documents in loan file
Interpret and analyze tax returns and financial documents
Ensure loan documents are in compliance with policies and procedures, are properly signed, endorsed, and in loan file
Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for members and co-workers
Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Qualifications:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred
Must have 5 years + experience as a Consumer Loan Underwriter/Loan Officer
Must have strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain professional relationships with members and co-workers
Must be computer literate
Must have the ability to meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau mortgage loan originator qualification requirements
