Responsible for overseeing underwriting and renewal analytics data with the objective of providing business intelligence information to internal and external customers regarding their health insurance plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivers data analysis from a variety of sources with a strong emphasis on providing actionable insights to consultants and clients, based on a clear understanding of business objectives;
Tracks, analyzes and reports on plan design trends, claims utilization patterns, diagnosis patterns, and other financial and marketing indicators;
Coordinates meetings, gathers necessary data and project manages the renewal process
Acts as a liaison between sales, underwriting, insurance carriers and account management team to ensure each has the information needed in order to effectively implement their .
Assists with the creation of client analysis document deliverables such as spreadsheets, renewal packets and other supporting data as needed. Recommends and supports the implementation of new content topics based on analysis findings;
Collaborates with local and national team in the evaluation of analytics software and 3rd party analytics firms;
Performs live demonstrations of analytical capabilities to clients and prospective clients as a collaborative effort with both account services and sales teams;
Audits the sold plans, rates and relevant data to provide insight, data trends, and reports on quoted versus sold.
Collection of fees, reconciliation and resolution of any outstanding balances within 60 days of invoicing date;
Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information);
Other special projects as required.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in computer science, data analysis or related field
1-3 years related work experience
Experience with medical underwriting database management and related software
Experience with healthcare data analysis and reporting preferred
Valid insurance license (or must be obtained within 90 days of employment)
Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving and time management skills
Good customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills
Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork
Ability to prioritize work for multiple projects and deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
