Your contribution at AIG
As a Leader, you are respected for your deep technical expertise and/or ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mindset. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.
Plan 20-30 risk based Underwriting Quality Control reviews primarily for AIG Financial Lines as both a team member and audit team leader within timeframes annually.
Conduct these commercial underwriting quality reviews assessing underwriting analysis, coverage, pricing, authority, reinsurance and compliance with product tower underwriting standards and guidelines.
Identify issues and work with business unit managers and underwriters to draft responses and action plans to effect remediation.
Draft and issue final written CUQ report for each completed project.
Interact with Global, Regional and Local product and business management throughout all phases of the CUQ review including follow up on identified issues from your CUQ reviews.
Understand product line risk appetite and work with product line to understand regional and country risk evaluations and profiles.
Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of Financial Lines underwriting reporting tools and management priorities.
Contribute to maintenance of global underwriting quality control guidelines, protocols, reporting templates and criteria for major lines with minor line specifics as required. Conduct training on these guidelines, procedures, protocols and templates where necessary.
What we are looking for
A seasoned background in Financial Lines underwriting experience, preferably with AIG.
Underwriting experience in other commercial lines would be considered a plus.
Ability to influence and negotiate across business units.
Held Underwriting Authority.
"Coaching" experience and a solid record of working with underwriters to develop skills and good practices.
High level of attention to detail.
Demonstrated good judgment in the context of listening to how an office performs the underwriting process and then determining objectively whether the local process is meeting the product global requirements
Good interpersonal skills
Excellent time management skills and an ability to work to deadlines and to work independently.
Excellent oral and written skills, as well as solid presentation skills.
High levels of enthusiasm, commitment and energy required.
Additional languages preferred: Mandarin, Japanese, Spanish.
