Underwriting Analyst:

Underwriting Analysts are a critical component of support for our underwriting functions and staff. Underwriting Analysts work closely with the Underwriters to operationalize new and renewal business production, provide exceptional customer service, and optimize productivity throughout the policy life cycle.

As part of a Matrix reporting structure with a dotted line to both Underwriting and Operations team leaders, the Underwriting Analyst acts as key liaison to both Underwriting and Operations for constant cross-team communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Support Underwriters with account processing into company policy admin systems (ALIS).

  • Collaborate with Underwriters on renewal plans, non-renewals, renewal solicitation emails, etc.

  • Support documentation and file management protocols; gather and enter risk information into company policy administration systems, quality checking data and coverage for the Underwriter.

  • Submissions: Set-up in ALIS risk screens

  • Quotes: Produce Quote document based on Underwriter-supplied terms & conditions, values, and pricing tools. Verify values and risk data, identify anomalies/errors and missing information and alert Underwriter to resolve.

  • Binders: Upon receipt of Bind request, complete file review, produce Bind document. Verify binding values, premium, and terms & conditions, identify any anomalies/errors and missing information and alert Underwriter and/or Broker to resolve.

  • Adhere to Carrier Guidelines regarding documentation of compliance items (SLA, TRIA, Product/Carrier specific items such as Lead/Underlying Binders) and forward docs to required Carriers.

  • Inspection Ordering

  • Policy Life Cycle Management:

Policy Entry, Issuance, Endorsements, Cancellation

Renewal Set Up

Customer Support

  • Collaborate with Underwriting Team Leader and Operations Team Leader (Senior Underwriting Analyst) for ongoing process improvement and problem solving.

Endorsements and Service Requests:

  • Assess and confirm specific actions with underwriter, acting within authority guidelines.

  • Calculate APs and RPs. Hand-off to Underwriters to review.

Review and issuance of policy forms:

  • Review for underwriter signoff/approval.

  • Conduct weekly touch point with underwriters to review outstanding items.

  • Collaborate for support on needed corrections, process bottlenecks, etc.
