Works with Underwriting team in reviewing, evaluating and underwriting assigned pricing requests. Handles primary underwriting functions for assigned projects.


  • Assists in all aspects of general underwriting for assigned accounts and/or programs;

  • Provides general underwriting and analytical support to assigned service team(s) and clients;

  • Meets with Producers, clients, Underwriters, Account Executives and Benefits Analysts as needed to define and accomplish projects;

  • Assists in development of pricing evaluations for options as requested by clients and/or service teams;

  • Assists in development, management and of timelines for projects of assigned accounts, as well as execution of assigned project components;

  • Works with internal staff and external vendors to complete projects and manage deadlines accordingly;

  • Maintains data tracking and reporting for financial management, underwriting models, client reports and other analytical reporting deliverables;

  • Responsible for working knowledge of carrier and TPA reporting systems of assigned clients to obtain data necessary for financial analysis and underwriting;

  • Performs basic underwriting tasks and projects independently with peer review from other Underwriters;

  • Maintains files and historical data on all assigned clients and/or programs;

  • Actively engages in educational opportunities to further underwriting knowledge, market trends and regulatory environment;

  • Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of all work performed, including proper management of timelines and meeting deadlines as established;

  • Addresses incoming correspondence and responds as required in a timely manner;

  • Peer review of other Underwriters' work for accuracy and completeness;

  • Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information);

  • Other duties as assigned.



Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

0 - 2 years related work experience

Valid insurance license (or must be obtained within 90 days of employment)

Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal


Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent problem solving and time management skills

Good customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills

Excellent planning, organizational and prioritization skills

Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork

Ability to work productively as an individual to accomplish assigned projects

Ability to prioritize work for multiple projects and deadlines

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Employee Health PSJH to be responsible for providing clinical caregiver health services. The CHRN ensures compliance with state and federal requirements and PSJH policies. Participates as an integral team member with colleagues such as Infection Prevention, Absence and Disability Management, Workers' Compensation and Well-being to deliver high quality occupational and environmental health services. Performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence Saint Joseph Health's mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization and promotion of integration of services with a culture of health and safety. In this position you will have the following responsibilities: * Perform pre-employment health screens, collaborating with Human resources, core leaders and Absence & Disability Management regarding any requested accommodations or unique circumstances identified in the health screen. * Responsible for providing and managing surveillance services, including Tuberculosis, hazardous drugs, lead, hearing conservation, and others as required by identification of hazard or federal or local regulation. * Ensure maintenance, storage, accuracy and confidentiality of employee health records, utilizing current standard operating procedures. * Participate on committees and in huddles as delegated to share employee health data, provide knowledge on Employee/Occupational Health standards and perspectives, and collaborate on measures to reduce risk and promote health and well-being of our caregivers. * Review occupational incident data in preparation for huddle, identifying trends in exposure types, routes, departments or titles and provides recommendations on prevention or mitigation measures. * Assess the need for and provides vaccinations in alignment with PSJH policy. * Provide clinical expertise, guidance and restrictions regarding caregivers with infectious diseases according to current PSJH policy to reduce the risk of communicable disease. * Manage caregiver exposures to blood or body fluids or infectious disease following current PSJH policy and protocols, supporting the caregiver throughout the process and ensures results are provided to minimize the wait time as much as and whenever possible. * Travel to ministries of responsibility to provide on-site services as directed by CHS Manager. * Maintain awareness of resources available from Well-being and Injury Prevention & Ergonomics to share with caregivers as appropriate to ensure every encounter is as effective and supportive as possible in promotion of caregiver health and well-being. Required Qualifications: * Three (3) years of experience as an RN in an acute hospital setting. * BLS - Basic Life Support Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Nursing * One (1) year experience in an Employee/Occupational Health setting. * Six (6) months experience with computer databases and systems, such as Microsoft Office, Excel, OHM. * Occupational Health Nurse within 2 years of hire.
