The Colonial Group seeks an Agribusiness Underwriter to join our Farm & Ranch team. This is a remote position. Reporting to a manager, the underwriter will work independently, handling advanced-level tasks with minimal direction.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Review new business submissions, renewals, and endorsement requests.

• Accept or decline risks based on a thorough analysis of relevant underwriting factors.

• Obtain additional information where necessary and analyze all pertinent data to determine the acceptability of risks according to established underwriting guidelines.

• Quote new business applications, ensuring pricing and terms & conditions align with underwriting guidelines.

• Prepare submissions for carrier review when exposures are outside of delegated underwriting authority.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail agencies and carrier partners to promote business growth and retention.

• Develop and implement strategies to improve underwriting efficiencies, processes and promote agribusiness product offerings.

• Train or supervise associate-level underwriters and technical assistants.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• Strong knowledge of agribusiness operations.

• Established proficiency in quoting Farmowners, Commercial Package, Commercial Auto, Umbrella, and Workers' Compensation.

• Proficient with MS Office Suite.

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a similar position.

• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
