We are seeking a well-qualified individual for an Undergraduate Intern in our Member Regulation, Sales Practice Department in Philadelphia, PA. The Summer Internship Program runs from May 20, 2019 through August 9, 2019. Flexible start and end dates will be allowed based on school schedule. Job Summary:

To obtain an understanding of FINRA and how FINRA regulates with the securities industry. This is an introductory-level position in which incumbents are training for assigned roles, training to learn job related skills, and working under direct supervision.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Learn how to gather information on member firms from rules,regulations guidelines, records, databases, SROs and regulatory agencies.

  • Learn how to determine member firm regulatorycompliance.

  • Observe examination activity performed by more seniorstaff.

  • Assist in reviewing and analyzing customer complaints andtermination for cause investigations.

  • Assist with reviewing, analyzing, and comparing documentsand information on firm policies, procedures, practices, and productsto security industry rules, regulations and guidelines.

  • Access FINRA's system applications and records, collectingand disseminating data/reports.

  • Assist in preparing memoranda and reports regardinginvestigations.

  • Collect, prepare and itemize exhibits for reports ofinvestigations.

  • Assist in collecting historical pricing data utilizingmarket trade data and prepare FINRA's examination schedules.

  • Participate in conferences or interviews with seniorexaminers.

  • Achieve an understanding and working knowledge of FINRA'srole and responsibilities in the securities industry with exposure to customercomplaints, routine examinations, and the new member application process.

  • Provide ad hoc project/ministerial or technical support.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate willbe majoring in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.

  • Only candidates enteringtheir third or fourth year of undergraduate studies will be considered.

  • Work experience in afinancial, brokerage or investment environment is a plus.

  • Strong work ethic,positive attitude and professional demeanor.

  • Effective communication,time management, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work withothers to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to performmultiple tasks efficiently and accurately.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is normally performed in an office environment.

  • Use of desktop PC is required.
