Overview

We're seeking an IT Interoperability Supervisor to join our team! In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations and providing leadership to the IT Interoperability service areas. The position is accountable for production support, high availability of supported systems, resource management, project management, process improvement, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction. Additionally, this role will be responsible for evaluating department policies and procedures and recommending solutions to upper management.

Location: This position is open to remote/work from home with strong preference for candidates residing within the UPH geographies of Iowa, Illinois, & Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Provides leadership to staff that encourages team member empowerment, decision making, and planning to ensure effective, efficient operations, optimizing performance and continually improving quality in a vastly changing health care environment.

  • Establishes and prepares departmental plans, standards, procedures, and instructions which contribute to the effectiveness of the department in accordance with organizational goals.

  • Ensures the supported computing environments are maintained and available as appropriate. Responsible for the high availability of systems, technical documentation and execution of recovery plans. This includes high availability failover and disaster recovery plans.

  • Works closely with all technology teams who support our computing environments to ensure systems are properly monitored and all components are designed and configured to the required specifications.

  • Creates roadmap that incorporates process, software, and hardware components to meet our strategic goals.

  • Establishes productivity guidelines, monitors and adjusts to achieve maximum productivity. Develops, executes and communicates service improvement plans to department and/or customers.

  • Creates and maintains department resource plans and project roadmaps.

  • Reviews and assesses the impact of infrastructure design, integration components, and workflow changes prior to their implementation.

  • Assists with resolution of issues with applications and development efforts and coordinates resolution between multiple teams to solve issues.

  • Reviews incident tickets for trends. Demonstrates the ability to identify root cause for issues and works with vendor support teams to resolve problems.

  • Responsible for all aspects of vendor technical support, license management, contract(s), and customer service. Demonstrates ability to build a strong, cohesive partnership with our application vendors.

Qualifications

What You'll Need:

Education:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or direct and applicable work experience.

  • Requires knowledge of healthcare industry systems and previous exposure/experience in Information Technology.

Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience.

Preferred:

  • Prior delegation and/or lead experience in Interoperability environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Required:

  • Communications and negotiation skills to effectively work with all levels of management throughout the UnityPoint Health System, its subsidiaries and affiliates.

  • Possesses excellent writing and verbal communications skills and the ability to understand and communicate concepts to technical and non-technical individuals.

  • Demonstrates an ability to coordinate and build consensus among groups or individuals with diverse interests and function effectively as a leader in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements is mandatory.

  • Requires a general knowledge of business and management principles.

  • Ability to understand and deal effectively with problems and opportunities, which arise, in a complex multiprocessing environment is crucial.

  • Ability to work as a team member, creating and maintaining effective working relationships.

  • Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.
