The Patient Transporter transfers patients to and from various areas of the assigned facilities while providing exceptional customer service. Additionally, the Patient Transporter engages in efforts to improve patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency, and ensures all required policies and procedures are complied with.
Use standard AIDET greetings when greeting patients for Transport. Provide safe transportation for patients throughout the UMHC/Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center using the appropriate transportation equipment. Use the appropriate Personal protective equipment, complying with inflection control practices required for patient transportation. Communicate with the Dispatcher and other team members using departmental communication devices. Transport expired patients to the morgue as needed, following the appropriate procedures. Pick up and deliver medications, medical instruments, lab specimen, etc., to and from facilities on the UM/JMH Medical complex.

High School diploma or equivalent required
Certification and Licensing:
CPR Certification- highly preferred
No experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
Commitment to the University's core values.
Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
Ability to operate a motor vehicle
Valid State of Florida driver's license
