SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Obtain quality ultrasound images of patients

Manage all ultrasound equipment and recognize significant diagnostic information

Demonstrates ability to perform all necessary computer operations

Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner

Prepare ultrasound machine and perform quality control tests

Assist radiology nurse or radiologist in administering medications, performing biopsies and all types care to patient

Reviews each exam for technical accuracy and identifies anatomical orientation on all images

QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE

Required: Must be registry eligible and pass the registry and becomes ARDMS certified within 18 months of hire.

Preferred: Multiple years as a staff sonographer

EDUCATION

Required: Responsible for continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT or the SDMS for licensure. Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology and trained in ultrasound technology. Graduate of AMA approved School of Ultrasound Technology

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

American Registry of Radiologic Technology or

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (required)

American Society of Radiologic Technology or

Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (preferred)

Current CPR certification (required)

Parkland's Urgent Care at Salem, conveniently located in Salem, NH, offers treatment for minor injuries and illnesses. Parkland Medical Center is one of four hospitals in NH to receive an 'A' Grade and one of two NH Hospitals to receive an 'A' Grade for four consecutive terms. * The Ultrasound Supervisor is a day shift Monday - Friday with call one day a month.* What would you do in this role? * Demonstrates critical thinking skills and leadership in planning, directing and provision of care to patients in accordance with hospital/department policies and procedures. * Assists the Director of Imaging Services with staff recruitment, selection, and staff recognition. * Coordinate staff scheduling, payroll and overtime authorization. * Fosters staff development, teamwork, and effective communication. * Ensures staff competency, ethical performance and adherence to department's/facility's Mission, as well as encourage and motivate employees continue professional growth. * To oversee and ensure quality exams for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid registration from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS); Vascular Certification Required. B.
