Halifax Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for the Radiology - Ultrasound Department.

Summary

The Diagnostic Sonographer utilizes high frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques for medical diagnosis. The professional level of the health care service requires highly skilled and competent individuals who function as integral members of the health care team. The Diagnostic Sonographer must acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to render quality patient care. Job responsibilities include acquiring and evaluating data, performing diagnostic procedures using ultrasound images, and providing patient and public information.

Job Qualifications

  • Must have American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with credentialing in either OB or ABD required and vascular preferred

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently required

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task

  • Must be customer-service oriented and able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Team Members at all levels in the organization

  • Professionalism in interpersonal communication skills with patients, patient families, colleagues, physicians and ancillary department personnel is required

  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to assist in providing exceptional care for our patients and their families

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Summary This individual would provide care to all patients while producing high quality imaging modalities. They would also provide contrast or radiopharmaceutical administration with patient assessment and follow-up information. Demonstrate all necessary skills and knowledge of section computer and /or equipment technology. Provide backup supervision (coordination) and direction to all radiology sections in the absence of a coordinator. Perform duties of a Level II Radiographer/Technologist when requested. Directly supervise students. Maintain certification according to the State, National and Medical Center regulations. Job Qualifications * Must be a graduate of a Joint Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or regionally accredited and approved School of Radiologic Technology. A four year program is preferred. * Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in more than one modality. * Must be licensed by the State of Florida to operate ionizing and non-ionizing imaging equipment according to MQA, Joint Commission and ALARA standards. * Minimum of 5 years experience in a specific Radiologic technology science or area of specialization required. * Experience with the PACS system preferred. * Previous experience in more than one modality is required.
