Ultrasound Technician

An ultrasound technician is responsible for operating specialized equipment that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the internal organs and tissues of patients. The technician will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to diagnose and treat medical conditions.

Responsibilities:

- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients

- Review patient medical history and explain the procedure to them

- Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during procedures

- Analyze images and provide preliminary findings to physicians

- Maintain equipment and ensure it is functioning properly

- Record and maintain accurate patient records and data

- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans

- Stay up-to-date with advances in medical technology and techniques

Requirements:

- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Sonography or a related field

- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or similar credentialing organization

- Proficient in the use of diagnostic ultrasound equipment

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Willingness to work flexible hours and to be on-call as needed
