The Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation is a non profit corporation that exists to provide the infrastructure for the delivery of physician services, and contracts with a seperate corporation comprised of physicians and other care providers to deliver athe clinical services. This multi-specialty foundation will provide a platform from which new physicians can be recruited to continue to provide physician services in a nonprofit, community setting. The foundation's vision is to create a medical group that will deliver high quality, market competitive medical services.

As part of the Diagnostic Imaging Team, the ultrasound technologist performs all ultrasound procedures request by provider. The position required acquistiion of high quality images, maintain data for quality management, excellent customer service skills and the exercise of mature and independent judgment. This position closely adheres to the SEBMF mission by enhancing the health, wellness and quality of life in the communities we serve.

  • Minimum

    Job Requirements:

Education:

Successful completion of AMA Accredited School of Ultrasound Technology.

Experience:

Clinical and practical experience during Ultrasound Technology Training is essential. At least one year of work experience is preferred.

Knowledge:

Ability to perform examinations of excellent technical quality, in an efficient manner. Must have currently or develop within six months of hire date, an in depth knowledge of cross sectional anatomy. Knowledge of Ultrasound Instrumentation operation and quality control procedures is necessary.

License, certification, and/or registration

Must be registered or registry eligible by the ARDMS in OB/GYN and/or Abdominal Ultrasound.

Registry to be completed within 6 months of date of hire.

BLS certification is required.

Other certification may be required if department develops in other modalities.

Special Skills and/or Equipment Used:

Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Knowledge of departmental computer systems operations is essential. ( EPIC programs, including Radiant, PACS)

The Resource Nurse is skilled in problem solving and crisis intervention and serves as the representative of Administration in the operation of the hospital during non-business hours. The Resource Nurse has strong clinical skills and a sound knowledge base as a nurse generalist. Provides clinical supervision and direction to all nursing units/departments in the acute care hospital. * Understands the use of an organizational chart to delineate authority, functional responsibility, lines or relationships, and communicates to provide safe and efficient nursing care. * Demonstrates the ability as a leader to measure, evaluate, act, motivate and counsel people; can anticipate problems. * Demonstrates the ability to provide leadership in a calm manner, de-escalate staff in a stressful and crisis situations.Demonstrates support of patient and family values thru care and compassion * Assumes responsibility for investigating concerns either of patient, family, visitor or physician, and for reporting findings to the VP/Patient Care Services, as requested. * Models the Studer "Must Haves", including using AIDET and leadership rounding on staff. Identifies problems related to patient care and hospital operation and successfully resolves issues. * Able to analyze problems objectively and use foresight to make sound decisions. * Take appropriate disciplinary action with Nursing staff and communicates such accordingly. * Collaborates with the appropriate nurse manager regarding problems with the delivery of patient care. Assists the nursing and medical staff as needed in times of stress or crisis. Demonstrates required knowledge and skill necessary to function in "code" situations: Code Blue, Code Grey, Code Red, Code Green, Code Pink, Code Yellow, and Trauma Code. Adjusts nurse staffing to meet patient care needs on evening and night shift, based on patient acuity and budget guidelines. Assists in directing and delegating management of nursing staff. Functions as the representative of Hospital Administration after normal business hours. Initiates the Medical Center's disaster response plan in the event of an external or internal disaster. Supervises adherence to nursing policies and procedures including safety and infection control standards. Demonstrates knowledge of Human Resource laws and regulations as the apply to compliance and sexual harassment. Evaluates or provides written feedback for evaluations to Directors In addition to the key accountabilities listed, employees working in this position are expected to accept and perform other duties as requested. Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred Education: BSN. Minimum Experience: Previous clinical experience in area of expertise, minimum 3-5 yrs experience in an acute case setting required. Preferred Experience: Prefer ED or Critical Care background.
