Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers.
Perform their assigned duties with regard to all admitted paiteints, outpaitient, and eligible beneficiatries regardless of underlying disease process or physical conditions.
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations utilizing the appropriate ultrasound equipment.
Reasonsible for the independent operation of the appropriate ultrasound equipment and for communicating examination results.
Uses coognitive Sonography skills to identify, locate, evaluate, and record data as appropriate.
Shall perform at a minimum the following examinations independently
o a) Abdominal (complete, RUQ, and the abdominal wall) Examinations
o b) Aorta Abdominal/Iliac Examinations
o c) Breast Ultrasound Examinations-(Technologist assigned to Mammography Dept.)
o d) Carotid Examinations
o e) Doppler Vein Extremity Examinations
o f) Endovaginal Examinations
o g) Extremity (between the groin and knee, upper and lower venous extremity) Examinations
o h) Gall Bladder Examinations
o i) Popliteal Examinations
o j) Liver Examinations
o k) Single/Multiple Gestation Examinations
o l) Neck Examinations
o m) Pelvic Examinations
o n) Renal/Bladder Examinations
o o) Spleen Examinations
o p) Superficial Lesion Examinations
o q) Testicular Examinations
o r) Thyroid Examinations
o s) Independently differentiates between normal and pathologic structures
o t) Consults medical history ensuring appropriateness of examination
o u) Schedules, coordinates, and records examination results.
o v) Prepares and maintains operational logs.
o w) Calibrates and maintains equipment, orders supplies as needed.
o x) Be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
o y) Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
o z) Complete all required paperwork
o aa) Utilize paraprofessionals as appropriate
o bb) Perform documentation and patient care IAW JC guidelines.
o cc) Manages daily schedules, reviewing and dispositioning consults, monitoring appointment utilization and patient access to care, conducting mandatory clinical training, monitoring clinic supplies and equipment, ensuring enforcement of clinic SOPs and standards.
Education: Completion of the following:
Graduate from a medical sonography program accredited by the Joinr Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technolory (JRCERT)
Shall hava transcript verifying Technologist education provided with resume.
Experience: Candidates must have the following experience:
Possess a minimum of two (2) years experience in ultrasound, Technologists performing on this contract shall possess a minimum of one (1) year experience in hands-on clinical applications within the past two year in the hospital setting, possess basic understanding of computer use keyboarding. FBCH uses electronic medical records.
National Background Investigation
Must be a US Citizen
Must have reliable transportation to and from site
License/Certification and Training:
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Have and maintain a valid, unrestricted and unencumbered ultrasound license in one of the 50 states in the U.S., the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) as an Ultrasound Technologist
