PRN Ultrasound Sonographer, RVT or RVS

Experienced Ultrasound Sonographer needed to join our fantastic team on a PRN basis! Beautiful out-patient Primary Care / Health and Wellness Clinics, all opened in the last 3 years! Shifts will always be during the week (Monday-Friday), between the hours of 8:00 am-5:00 pm covering for our full-time Sonographers when they are out on PTO, etc. We have 4 clinic locations: Westover Hills (Culebra & Rogers Road), Fair Oaks (IH-10 and Ralph Fair Road), Schertz (IH-35 and Schertz Parkway) and a brand-new facility located in the Roosevelt area of San Antonio (South/SE Loop 410). Looking for an individual who is open to floating and picking up shifts between all locations. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Sonography, ARDMS Certification / RVT or RVS is required.
Essential Job Functions:
The Ultrasound Sonographer / RVT or RVS uses ultrasound high-frequency sound waves to take images of the body's internal organs and tissues to assist physicians with diagnosing and monitoring a variety of conditions and diseases. Types of scans will include Carotid Intima-Media Thickness Tests (CIMT) / Carotids, Abdomen, Bladder, Kidney, Testicle/Scrotum, Thyroid, Extremities, DVT and Liver.

Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Sonography or Medical Radiology Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Sonography, ARDMS Certification / RVT or RVS is required.
Experience: Minimum of one year of related clinical experience and/or training.
Essential Job Functions:
Explaining sonographic procedures to patients, answering questions, preparing patients by applying the gel to the skin, and positioning the patients on the table
Ensuring clear images for diagnostic purposes and adjusting the sonographic equipment when necessary
Selecting the appropriate settings and adjusting the patients' positions accordingly
Monitoring and caring for patients to ensure their safety and comfort during the procedures
Selecting and examining images, looking for differences between healthy and pathological areas, and determining if the scope of the exam should be extended, based on preliminary findings
Presenting the sonograms and preliminary findings to the Physicians
Completing the appropriate documentation and maintaining patients' histories and medical records in the electronic medical records (EMR)
Assisting Physicians and the healthcare teams during invasive procedures
Maintaining and cleaning the sonographic equipment
Performing administrative and other duties as needed
Required Skills:
Must be able to perform Carotids
Ability to explain technical terms in clear and understandable way
Good eyesight and attention to detail
Strong analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, and other team members.
Basic radiology and sonographer skills.
Basic mathematical skills.
Excellent interpersonal and people skills.
Excellent computer skills with respect to working with an electronic medical record.
Working knowledge of medical terms and a good knowledge of the English language and grammar rules.
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Ability to deal with problems and take direction.
Detail-oriented and organized.
Excellent attendance is a requirement of the position.
Preferred Skills:
Computer skills including, but not limited to, electronic medical records and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to perform CIMTs.
Ability to operate and maintain clinical medical equipment.
