Summary:

We are looking for a creative, empathetic and solutions oriented UI/UX Designer to join our rapidly growing team. The designer will be working with the product team and any other stakeholders on the project to translate business requirements into well thought out wireframes and mockups with attention to design and user flows. The initial deliverables for any project will include sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes. The successful person in this role will have a deep understanding of customer needs and a background in creating beautiful designs that function to deliver the smoothest experience for any user whether internal or external.



Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver mockups and wireframes optimized for multiple devices
  • Creatively solve unique issues that arise during the design and development process
  • Gather and evaluate user requirements with team members including stakeholders and developers
  • Prototype conceptual UI/UX across new product lines, as well as managing testing/feedback cycles
  • Make strategic application decisions based on data and client feedback
  • Conduct usability testing
  • Assist with content development
  • Ensures consistent style and quality across rapidly developing platforms and projects
  • Deliver the best user experience possible across all projects

Requirements



Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of UI/UX design experience with a portfolio of recent design projects
  • Experience with app oriented design and development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to concisely convey client needs
  • Enthusiastic to see a design take shape with the product/development teams into production
  • Proficiency with working with a provided style guide and ensuring new UI/UX reflects the ideals within the guide

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with XAML for C# Desktop/portable applications
  • Hard-copy design capabilities
  • Previous use of Jira/Confluence

This is an Hourly position in a theatre costume shop. Job Opportunity This is an hourly level position in the Instructor series. This position is distinguished from other Instructor positions by the assigned duties. Maximum 1,560 hours per 18-month period (average of 19 hours per week) but will vary week to week according to needs of the production schedule. Generally 19 hours during rehearsal and construction, up to 36 hours during tech/opening weeks. Weekend and evening shifts will be included. What criteria will be used to determine the "most qualified" applicants? The department will evaluate an applicant's experience listed on the application as it relates to the essential functions of the position. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Essential Functions * Work directly with director, guest costume designer(s) (when not serving as the costume designer on a particular show), and Rainbow Company Youth Theatre staff (including other shop personnel) to ensure timely delivery of all costume elements for community youth theatre productions, camps, and conservatories * Instruct children aged 10-18 on fundamentals and best practices of costume shop work, costume construction and maintenance, and costume/wardrobe crews * Balance self-directed building and construction with delegation of labor to volunteers and students with a broad range of skills * Must be comfortable working independently and with adults and youth * Collaborate with director, designers, stage management, and Rainbow Company staff to develop and maintain costume shop inventory and related paperwork * Maintain, or ensure the timely maintenance of, all shop equipment, keeping all equipment in safe working order * Must be available for rehearsals and fittings on weekday evenings 6pm-9pm during the academic year, select Saturdays approximately 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m, and on the following weekends for technical rehearsals: February 9-10, April 20-21. Autumn and winter dates TBD. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Qualifications: * Working knowledge of theater production * Training or experience with tailoring, altering, and original pattern creation * Thorough understanding of costume design and construction processes * Experience teaching or supervising youth under age 18 in a creative environment * Strong organizational skills * Knowledge of textiles and theatrical costuming industry * Excellent communication skills – written, oral, and visual * Great sense of humor, adaptability * Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug test.
